Title: The Artist Formally Known as Renaissance
Established Goals: Learners will acquire the necessary knowledge to
classify works in the arts, from the Renaissance, by forms in which they are
found.

Introduction to the forms of new art most used during the
Renaissance- Sculpting, Painting (new style/perspective),
Architecture
Why was this important? Have a student read information sheet
(attached)
Introduction to most influential/ famous Renaissance artists (i.e.
Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo)- Use printed
information pages
Student research on figure of choice- Teacher provided list (attached).
Research is to be done both in, and out of class. Students have 2 (two)
days to conduct research.
Production of personal artwork- Students will create an
artwork/expression SIMILAR to but NOT THE SAME as one of the
famous works created by the artistic icon of choice. Students will have
2 (two days) to complete personal piece (total of 4 days between
research and artwork development)
Written description and oral presentation on why this form of art and
artist was so influential to the personal production
