Post-Racial Society Final Draft

Post-racial society that has been a serious issue in America for several years. Post-racial
is a theoretical environment where the United States is devoid of racial preference, discrimination, and
prejudice, its like judging the way how their appearance is to other ethnicities. Blacks and Hispanics are
the ones always getting pointed out, especially Black males. Post-racial society has stopped as the
generation changes in the world, but yet it still continues happening today and rarely going on around
us. Stereotyping is the cause for Post-racial Society to happen often with other races, along with blacks
and Hispanics. Soon it should stop completely because not only in America, it happens in other countries
and its very devastating to people. The truth is that stereotyping has nevered end and it will never stop.
Blacks were always made fun of how they look, where they live, and how they talk and same goes to
hispanics as well.

According to Obamas vision of a post-racial America looks even more distant than
before, Obama shares his speech to the public about post-racial society that is no longer divided with
blacks and whites. I believe his speech was a prediction to post-racial society and how maybe
experienced it with himself. Post-racial society happens on the media like the news, on articles,
newspapers, and radios. Teachers dont really talk about that in schools are even mention about it
because its supposedly not happening anymore and its not to be discuss in school. Its only discussed
in programs like in African American group conferences or in type of programs like Ujima Program for
an example.

According to The Obama Era: A post-racial society , after Barack Obama was elected of
being the first black president in the United States, post-racial society has been mention several times
about him. In the article, it says it will be a change to America because it he will stop the post-racial
society going on with blacks and will help the black community. It seems like he has been racially
profiled because of him being the first black president and it think it will put a stop to it. Racial profiling
is been an issue along with post-racial society and its the same meaning to it. Racial profiling is a
discrimination to people of their appearance of how they look in a offensive/racist way to all races in
general. That is how all the stereotyping starts in each generation and how it just happens out of
nowhere. It talks about how blacks are not employed for jobs and the education they have is not helping
them succeed. I think all of the comments in that article has been written by white people in their own
opinions about Blacks. I think thats an example of post-racial society in America because of how racist

they are saying to blacks in America and think we will never have a great successful education and life in
general. Post-racial society can maybe involved in religion and culture, which I dont believe. The postracial society now has to do with Obama because of him being a president and originally its white
males.

The NY times article say how post-racial society is just one of the several terms to discuss like race
card, reverse racism, and race baiter. The word race card is always referred to black person by
accusing others of racism. Reverse Racism is a condition in which discrimination against a dominant
racial group in a society has taken place. Race baiter is making verbal threats against members of a racial
group. All those words are the meaning of why post-racial society is still going. Basically, its saying
racism is overrated in the society. The word Post is another way to say its been in the public and
people see it happening in person. The word society is a group of people involved in serious situations
and are the victims to it. Im pretty sure in 50s and 60s times when black people werent treated fairly
by whites as victims to post-racial and its in the society in America. Blacks were verbally threaten by
whites and its an example of Race baiter, blacks were discriminated by whites that is an example of
Reverse Racism, Lastly, Blacks were accused by others of racism and its called a race card by telling how
they are accused of how they should be treated fairly and their rights.

The white supremacy is maybe has to do with post-racial society I believe because
everything has to do with whites, but no other race. The whites causes all the racism in America and
countries and the society to have a bad look. The whites started it all in each generation and its effects
of how the whites are today. Treats all other races with respect like and doesnt even exist or nevered
happened. For history classes in schools, will never have discussions about this with students, it may
offend blacks and whites in that matter. People today I ask if they know what post-racial is? They
never know what that means or never heard of that word because it no longer exist, but happens rarely
that people still understands like black senior citizens who were victimized by it, which they dont want
to talk about or even mention it to younger people. I believe white parents dont have to explain racism
to their kids because they already know, but for black parents they have to explain it to their kids and
would like to pass it on to their kids when they get older and how blacks were not respected back in the
old times.

When I look up post-racial society articles in Google and pull up a link to it, it always have to
say about blacks and obama being a president. The authors are whites writing about this post-racial
society and thinks it doesnt exist anymore, but continue to talk about it. Post-racial society is a myth
now and people in this generation dont really know about it or even knew it was a problem in America.
Honestly, before I was in a English class in college, history and English classes I took in High school, they
always had discussions for racism and always discuss about Martin Luther Kings Times and slavery, but
nevered discuss about post-racial society. Till now that Im in college Im having a somewhat better
understanding of post-racial society and knowing how it was a serious problem in the United States. Its
been rare truth to America and has never been told to anyone now in this generation.

Im currently now still having research about post-racial society. I dont know much about, but
Im seeing this articles on websites and Im not sure if its the truth about post-racial society and Im
trying to figure it out a little of how it can be a noticeable. Later on in the future, it will be out of sight in
the internet and on false articles. Its hard to believe it because I never grew up in this type of situation
and it can make me feel vulnerable. I want to know how can it be prevented as well. Future students in
schools wont have to know about this in their classes.

According to The Obama Era: A post-racial society it says post-racism parallels the same ideas
that gained traction alongside other historical markers such as the first Martin Luther King jr. national
holiday in 1986. This gave me an idea of how post-racial society is always involved with black leaders like
Obama because thats what it is always talking about in articles right now nothing specific. Blacks were
always predicted on things and never had justice. Theyve never had the chance to have a freedom of
speech and their rights. We know our history of our ancestors and our leaders who had help the black
community and bring blacks together. to stop the racism going on with other. However, racism did
stopped for awhile and it still exist till this day and schools are still having discussions about it with
students.

In sports, whites were the first to play basketball, football, and etc., But blacks took over it and it
not affects the future of saying blacks are good at basketball and football do most. For example, Jackie
robinson was the first black african american to be on a baseball league, whites did not show any
respect to him because he is playing with whites and it shows how post-racial society was. Post-racial
society has been visible like the how blacks werent allow to sit with the whites in restaurants and go to
the same bathrooms. Now its not too much of a big deal and its a lot more visible to see that any race
can go to the same bathroom. Racism is not much of a serious issue now like it was before, but racism
now mention in conversations.

I think this topic of post-racial society gives the audience a better understanding of how racism
was obvious to blacks and know how it affects the future. The information I put in the essay has
examples to post-racial society and has the times when it was an issue in America. Post-racial has no
longer exist, but blacks know it in their history.
