Lesson/Day #1- Students will learn that the Eastern Mediterranean, a region with a dry
climate and valuable resources, sits in the middle of three continents. IAS- 7.3.4, 7.3.6
Lesson/Day #2- Students will learn that although Turkey has historically been more Asian
than European, its leaders are seeking to develop closer economic ties with Europe. IAS7.3.12
Lesson/Day #3- Students will learn that Israel and the Palestinian Territories are home to
Jews and Arabs who continue to struggle over the regions land. IAS- 7.1.18, 7.3.12
Lesson/Day #4- Students will learn that Syrian, Lebanon, and Jordan are Arab nations
coping with religious diversity, and they will review for their test. IAS- 7.3.12
