Dear Russia,
I am currently a citizen of Russia and I believe that we as a country should give us, the
citizens, more human rights. Of people are gay, lesbian, bisexual or a transgender, you dont
have the right to take something like that away. Everyone is different and if everyone was the
same it would be boring. People should have the right to express themselves as who they really
are. And punishing them by deportation up to fifteen days or detention, like really, is that what
you want to be known for. I dont understand why you cant just let people be, it just makes
people like the gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender more angered at the government and
cause trouble. We are a society that wants to become closer not separate and hate the
government. And I know that there have been some murders of people who are gay, lesbian
ect, and you should punish them for what they are doing. And I heard that the parliament
passes a law recently banning Russian children to be adopted by same-sex marriage or
countries that have same-sex marriage legal. Why cant us as citizens have the human right to
be with whoever we want to be in a relationship with even if it is same-sex.
We deserve human rights like the freedom of expression. But Putin passed a new law
where we don't have the freedom to express how we feel. Because if we say the wrong thing
about religion than we will get punished since it is a insult. But you are taking it too extreme and
I feel like you are just taking away everything and taking away our freedom of speech. If we
cant express how we feel then why do we even bother talking to each other at all, we might as
well never talk to anyone about anything. How do you expect to become a better country if you
punish someone for expressing how they feel about something and you take it as a insult. Our
country should be open for new things so we can change and become a better country. The
freedom of expression is like everything, but I can understand some of why you would punish
someone if they say the wrong things, like about religion because it shouldnt be talked about
as an insult to anyone since we all rely on our religion and it makes us who we are. But dont
take it to the extreme and kill people because you feel like they insulted you in any way. And
August 10th, a police officer detained someone because of something that said over the
internet. I guess this should be a law maybe only to the people that are threatening Russia with
violence that could cause people hurt or killed.
Every human deserves to have human rights, but Russia seems to be taking it away
from us and it doesnt really make sense. Some does but why do you take it to the extreme and
pass a law and punishing people for doing something wrong in your eyes. Humans deserve the
freedom of assembly, being able to come together as a community and hold a meeting to
discuss things that need to be solved. Freedom of assembly gives us as a chance to become a
nation together and keep the economy together. But Putin signed a law saying that we are
banned night-time demonstrations. I mean at least he ban it altogether but it also takes away
chances to have more meeting. Its right for us to have the human right to be able to hold a

meeting whenever we want to. All we want to do is gain some more human rights that we
deserve because other countries have these but then Russia lacks it because Putin passes
laws banning and punishing people for something. And we want the right to be able to hold
these meetings without the government interfering with it but since you made it so that we cant
have them during night, well you interfered by doing that. We didnt want the government to try
to take things away from us, it's almost like the government is taking away a piece of us.
All of our freedoms are at threat, it seems that Russias government is taking it away
from us and it is not necessary. They took away our freedom of association which is taking
away our freedom to have the right to leave or join any group that we would want to join. A
Secretary general of a council of Europe told that a memorial will be able to remain open and
then the European parliament told Russia to not close the memorial. As a citizen of Russia I
believe that we deserve to be able to join or leave any group we want, it seems like we are
becoming a communist country because your are trying to prevent us from having the freedom
of things that are our human right. Just because some people are violating these freedoms
doesnt mean that you should take them away from everybody else.
Today, ethnic differences depend on the support from others which will then maybe leaf
to wars. Only 40% of the ethnic differences lead to the first two stages, 15% go to the following
stages, three and fourth. And it leads to diversity of ethnicity result in nationalism and ethnic
identities, defining themselves as a different ethnic group than others. Those result in more
ethnic tensions and discrimination because of the differences. And it is a big part of the political
and social relations in different states or countries. The Soviet had borders of 120 different
ethnic groups that are divided into fifteen different regions. Since huge amounts of races were
outside of the boarders the USSR began to get involved and angered. Each area wanted their
own independence with their ethnic differences and nothing to do with the Soviet Union which
made them angered more. Gorbachev couldn't handle that there were so many different ethnic
groups. Which made annoyed so he often started a fight that would lead to people hurt.
Russian Citizens deserve to have human rights just like everyone because we should be
equal and give us a start to becoming a better country.

Sincerely,
Russian Citizen
