To: Whom it may concern,

It is truly a remarkable pleasure to have the opportunity to write a letter of
recommendation on behalf of Lucia Godoy. In my twenty years of teaching, I have seen many
students come and go, but I have only seen very few with the humanistic gifts that young Lucia
possesses. I had the chance to work with her for two semesters and I have known her for a year
and a half. During this time, Lucia displayed an array of sterling qualities that will highlight her
wherever she goes in life. As stated before, I first worked with Lucia when she was an 11th
grader and she was enrolled in my A.P. Spanish language course. Quiet and reserved by
nature, it takes time for people to truly see her and understand how Lucia operates. Her tranquil
and serene behavior may be misinterpreted by some people, but make no mistake about it.
Underneath that quiet and calm attitude, one finds a student who hungers for a real and
meaningful sense of education. She reads with a purpose, writes with a passion, and debates
from the heart. We, educators, put a lot of emphasis on lifelong learners. Lucia Godoy turned
out to be such a student. And this is exactly what separates Lucia from the rest of the students.
She is genuinely interested in growing mentally, in developing emotionally and in expanding
socially, but she is not only interested in improving as a student. At such an early age, young
Lucia is sincerely interested in growing, developing and expanding more as a human being than
anything else in life. I have no doubts when I tell you that Lucia will shine bright and long
wherever she goes in life because this young lady has displayed an impressive array of qualities
that allow her to make her own fire and light her way with it. Among her many achievements you
will find that she has managed to achieve a respectable 3.1 GPA while volunteering her time at
Western Convalescent home assisting and entertaining the residents. In addition, she has been
involved with ADOPT AND SHOP an animal shelter where she assisted in the adoption of over
50 dogs. These are some of the reasons why she is greatly respected by peers and staff at our
humble school. She is well liked and well thought of because with the quality and outstanding
student, the impressive and charismatic young lady, and the intellectual and humane individual
that Lucia Godoy simply is. I highly recommend Lucia without reservation whatsoever. She is
the kind of student we, educators dream about. She is serious, driven, motivated, and talented
and has a great attitude towards work and school. If you are or your fine institution is truly
interested in working with productive and well rounded people who truly bring something special
to the table, then you will give Lucia a chance to prove to you what I am saying about her. She
is bilingual, computer literate, participated in extracurricular activities such as leadership and
soccer and held representative positions for her homeroom and her academy. As you can see
there is something special about Lucia Godoy. If you have the ability to provide her a helping
hand, please provide that human touch needed to help such a deserving student. I guarantee
you that you wont regret it.
