My first article I discovered was called Why Ballers Go Bust. This article was
published on October 11, 2010. The information for the article has been revised, but has
not been updated. As far as the information being current or out-of-date, its a little bit of
both words because its deals with people in the past as examples but the topic still occurs
in todays society as well. All the links in the article are functional as well. This article
relates to my topic and answers my question also. The intended audience for the article is
the reader and is at the appropriate level due to the fact it is found on EBSCO Host. I did
look at many sources before this one. I feel very comfortable if I was to use this source
for my research paper. The author of this article is Paul Watchter. There are no
credentials or organizational affiliations given for the author. The article does reveal he
publisher. The URL reveals that its regular website. The information comes from
Bloomberg BusinessWeek Magazine. The information does reveal evidence such as
examples and other things as well. Other people have referred the information in other
articles also. Language and tone of the article is very free of emotion. There consists of
no grammatical errors when I began to read through it. The purpose of the information is
to persuade the audience about why athletes go broke. The author makes his purpose very
clear especially with the title of the article. The information consists of many facts and a
few opinions. There consists of no personal biases or things of that nature in the article.

On a scale from one to five I will give this article a 4 because I liked the examples that it
used very much in the articles.

information in the article was published March 23, 2009. The article has been revised.
For my topic the information is both current and out-of-date. The links are very
functional inside the article as well. Information does both relate to my topic and answers
my question as well. The intended audience is specifically for the reader. The information
is at the appropriate level as I read through it. This article was actually the first that I
chose to look at. Im very comfortable using this source for a research paper. The author
of this articles name is Pablo Torree. There consists of no credential or anything of that
nature on the article. There does consist the email address and publisher information as
well on the article. The URL does not reveal anything about the author or the source. I
found this information on Google Scholar. The evidence is supported repeatedly with
evidence and examples throughout the article and has been reviewed by others as well.
Language used in the article is free of emotion while reading and it does not consist of
any grammatical errors or anything of that nature. The purpose of the information is to
convince the reader on the reason why athletes go broke. The author makes his
statements very clear while reading through the article and deals with more facts than
anything else. There are no personal biases or anything of that nature in the article. On a
scale from one to five I will give this article a four because this was one of my favorite
articles that I found and they were very interesting.

The Financial Ball. This information was posted on April 22, 2014 and has been

reviewed as well. The article is both current and out-of-date. All links are functional
throughout the whole entire article. As far as the information relating to the topic, it
relates to it very well and answers my question as well. The information is apporopriate
level for this essay. I did look at other articles before I decided to choose this one. As far
as using it for a research paper I feel very confident in using it as well. The author of the
articles name is Russ Wiles. There are no credentials given for the article. There is no
contact information in this article either. I dont believe the URL reveals anything about
the author or the source. This information was found on Google Scholar. The information
is supported heavily by examples in the article and has been reviewed by others.
Information can be verified from other information in another source. The article consists
of no spelling errors or grammatical errors. The purpose of this information is to discuss
the financial problems of athletes, so it is made very clear what his intentions of the
article is. The information has many facts with a few opinions. There are no political,
religious biases, or anything of that nature in the article. On a scale from one to five I will
give this article a five because it focuses on the financial problems a lot more and the title
really caught my attention as well.
The next article I chose to pick was named Curt Schilling And Why Athletes
Makes Such Poor Financial Decisions. The information was published May 25, 2012
and has been revised by others as well. As far as being current or out-of-date the
information consists of both. All the links are functional for the article as well. The
information relates and answers my question very clearly. The intended audience is the
reader and is at the appropriate level as well. This was I believe my second choice when
deciding what to look at first as far as sources. I am very comfortable with using this

information for a resource in a research paper. The author of the articles name is Monte
Burke. There are no credentials given for the author that I could find. An email address is
given for the author of this article and the publisher. The URL does not reveal anything
about the author or source. I found this article on EBSCO Host. Information consists of a
lot of evidence as you read the article. The information has been reviewed by many and
can be verified by information in another source as well. The language feels free of
emotion and consists of no grammatical errors or anything of that nature. The purpose to
inform the reader of why athletes make poor decisions and the author makes his
intentions very clear towards the beginning and the end. This information consists mostly
of facts and examples to prove the facts and justify them. There consists of no personal
biases or anything of that nature. From a scale from one to five I will give this article a
four because it used a great athlete an explained what his decisions really costed him in
the long run.
Next was the article called For Some Athletes, A Short-Lived Financial Success. This
information was posted on May 19, 2011 and I could not tell if had been revised or
updated. Like many of the others this article is both current and out-of-date. All the links
are very functional as well. The information does answer my question and relates to my
topic as well. The intended audience is the reader and is at the appropriate level for the
reader as well. I did look at many other articles before choosing this one as well. As far as
being comfortable using the article in a research paper it just depends its a yes and a no
by me. The author of this information is Mike Pesca. There consists some of the authors
credentials on the site. Also there is the authors email address as well. The URL in my
eyes does not reveal anything either. This information was discovered on Google Scholar.

The evidence support in the article is like many others and has many examples to try and
help make the article stronger in its intentions. Also, the article has been reviewed by
other people as well and can be verified in another source as well. The language of the
article feels free of emotion and consists of no grammatical errors. The purpose of this
article is to discuss the short lived financial success of some athletes. The author makes
his intentions very clear throughout the information. There are many facts in the
information as well. There consists of no personal biases in the article. On a scale from
one to five I will give this article a three like before it talked on the financial problems of
the athletes, but wasnt as good to me as the other one I found earlier.
