Students, today we will be making digital presentations using Prenzi for you
research presentation. You will need to make a digital presentation explaining the
main topic of your paper and examples of evidence to support this topic. We are
going to present these in two days to the entire class. Digital presentations are
important for this project because it helps connect the audience to the speaker
These presentations will need to be in perfect shape. One of your presentations
will be showcased in the 10th grade open house.

Procedures and Time line:
Introduction: (10 minutes):
Class, today we are going to take your research papers and create Prezi power
points to go along with your presentations. For this project you will need to
pretend that this presentation will be given in a professional seminar. The
student with the best presentation will be chosen to present at the 10th grade
open house.

10 Minutes:
Students will make an outline of their presentation. An explanation of
teacher's expectations will be written on the board. These are...
Outline must be written clearly in bullet style form.
Outline must be written in pencil.
Outline must focus on the subject of your research paper.
Outline must contain proof of your research.
All citation that will be used in your digital presentation must be in your
outline.
35 Minutes:
*five minutes is added to this portion to account for students changing activities.
Students will receive a handout with digital presentation guidelines.
Students will be sorted into two groups (Groups A and Groups B)
Students in group B will begin working on their Prenzi presentation
Students will first complete the how to log on the computer.
Students will then begin working on their presentation.

A computer lab teacher will be present for any computer related
questions.
Students in group A will begin working on their presentation speeches.

each slide.

Students will swap places after 15 minutes.

Modifications:
Students who did not grasp the lesson will be asked to rework the portions that are
incorrect. Part or parts that these students can not complete independently will be
done under teacher supervision.
Students who want enrichment can make a digital presentation of their favorite
author. Students who complete and present presentation will be given 10 bonus
points.
Students who are hearing impaired will be given headphones to aid during
instruction. Teacher has a mouthpiece connection to the headphones and will
speak the lesson and instructions into the mouthpiece.

Presentation Guidelines
Presentation will contain at least five slides.
Presentation will need to have interesting and varied graphics.
Presentation should have a title page.
Presentation should flow effortlessly from one slide to the next.
Words on slides should be brief. *Remember- slides are visual aids not lectures*
Presentations should contain quotes to back-up each supporting topic.
Presentation should have a conclusion.
Do not write your whole speech on slides. Words on slides should be brief and
are used as props not a lecture.
Do not make grammar or spelling errors on your presentation.
Do not create your slides out of order. This is to help insure that you slides are in
order when you give your presentation.
Do not turn in your presentation before you review it.
Do not turn in a bare presentation. Doing the bare minimum will result in a low
grade.
