UNIT/CHAPTER OBJECTIVE/GENERALIZATION/BIG IDEA:

This lesson plan is on the ecosytems of where our plants and animals adapt.
LESSON OBJECTIVE:
Given a ecosystem on a computer label where each animal and plant belong in less than 10 minutes.
On a computer label each picture by proper name of each ecosystem in 5 minutes.
Given a computer and Microsoft word write a paragraph of what a ecosystem is and why they are
important for the plants and animals to live.
.
MATERIALS:
- Computers, microscopes, small shovels, buckets, and water
BACKGROUND and RATIONALE:
Ecosystem, oxygen, evaporation, life cycle, and adaptation
The language in this lesson is self forward and nothing that the students should not understand
Working with math having to add up which animal or plant belongs where and writing a paragraph
about the lesson learned to deal with their grammar.
When we get into the plant cycle and animal cycle I introduced some of that into this lesson to get them
familiar with that
To make the lessons new and fun to these students so they so not get bored and so I can keep them
interested on the subject.
PROCEDURES AND TIMELINE:
Introduction: take them outside to do a part of the lesson and take them on a field trip to the Zoo.
Procedures: Provide a sequential (step by step) description of the procedures and activities for the
lesson.
Day one- Introduce the lesson and give out the key terms of the lesson.
Day two- Power point on ecosystem and give out a take home worksheet.
Day three- Go outside to do lesson showing them different areas that animals and plants like to
be and live. Show them how to use a microscope to look at small plants and bugs. Send home
permission form for the Zoo.
Day four- Get on computer to let them do some work with the ecosystems and then get the
students to write a paragraph on what they have learned. In which will be counted as a test.
Day five- Go the Zoo

For students who do not understand the lesson as well as others I will be more hands on with
them and help guide them through every step of the way. I will make visuals for everything I
teach the students and use technology to make it better understanding to them.

Closure: What do you have planned to close the lesson? To close the lesson I will have the students
write about their experience to the zoo and what they all saw that they had learned in the classroom.

ASSESSMENT EVIDENCE:
- Visual assessment
- Hands on assessment
- Peer assessment
MODIFICATIONS:
For the students who did not master the objectives I will give an extra session to them on the topic later
on in the year to help catch them up.
For students who mastered the subject then they are going to do well and be on top their work.
