We begun to raise daughters more like sons but few have the courage to raise
our sons like our daughters -- Gloria Steinem. Are women equal? Not always. Jobs
dont always pay women the same amount as men. Every since approximately 1923,
the government has been trying to equalize the gender roles.For the most part everyone
is equal. The preamble made sure they got rid of discrimination towards women.
The preamble is a document tying the loose ends from the confederation. It was
written on september 10, 1778, by Governor Morris. The preamble says insure
domestic tranquillity, which means the peace is insured. It also says established
justice, which means they will not discriminate, toward men or women, Equality
between both men and women is exactly the same because God made us all humans.
we the people of the united states,is one of the most famous quotes in the world.
Equality is the key to our society, if we weren't equal there would be a lot more
controversy. According to an article I once read, All human beings are born free and
equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should
act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. Every since 1972, the American
Civil Liberties Union, ACLU, has been trying to secure gender equality and has been
helping protect women and girls from discrimination. This is an excellent example of
equality. The preamble gave women and girls a lot of rights compared to what they use
to have. They are aloud to vote, pay taxes and more.

Why are women rights important? Women and men are a lot alike so women
should have the same rights. In 1972, women and girls were freed from violence and
discrimination. Equal justice says a man and woman who do the same crime should get
the exact same punishment. Men and women are both able to vote, work, and a lot
more but women are still not allowed to serve as a Navy Seal. Equality makes for less
riots and disagreements. The women enjoy this but not all men like that women are
equal or on the same level as them. Still, in a lot of countries women are not equal or
even known in the same level as the men. People consider women as property.

In conclusion women and men are equal because they are both important in our
society. Women and men are equal because they are both humans both can vote both
have taxes,and legal rights due to the preamble. How important it is for us to recognize
and celebrate our heroes and she-roes -- Maya Angelou.
