As usualwe came back from Spring Break into a flurry of

activity..the finals of our Spring sports teams, Honors Recital,
Junior Senior Banquet, Sadie Hawkins Dance, Spring Music Concert,
Sign Team Program, Couples Bridal Shower (special this year ),
and finally Graduation. Goodbyes are said and transitions are begun
for all. Therefore, it is not only busy, but also a time full of emotions.
We are SO thankful to announce that we have a new car (2005 Honda
Jazz/Fit)!!! The German DMV called the last car unfit to be driven in
Germany any longer. Thank you for giving and praying for this with
us! (more info on website)
We had a conversation with a man at the German Church. He said
that he missed us being a part of the worship team and implied there
might be some changes. (website)
Our Sign Team performed their LIGHT program on May 2nd in the
HS Chapel. It included Thy Word, City on a Hill, In the Light, See the
Light, Marvelous Light, etc. They did a good job! If you would like a
copy of the presentation, let us know.
The Spring Music Concert was called the best yet. One of the reasons
was because our Junior student, Tyler Kramlich, directed his own
composition for choir and instrumental quintet called Veritas, which
is Latin for the word truth. Truth was BFAs theme for the year. It was
a magnificent performance. Keep your eyes open for this guy.come
to Germany if you want an autograph. It will be worth something one
day. It was extra special for Josh and I because he is one of the
juniors from our class and because he is in Joshs small group. It is so
fun to see students that you know well flourish! If you would like to
watch it, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?

quintet .)

Joshs Highlight
Josh was excited to be part of
creating the Technical side of
the schools formal
Technology Plan. For years,
the school has progressed with
little technological direction,
so it felt good to make that
progress. Along with that,
both the Middle School and
High School have made
significant strides in preparing
for continued integration of
technology in the classroom.

Katies Highlight
A German lady stopped me and
said, I miss you! I was
surprised because I did not
recognize her, but she went on to
explain, it is not good for me
when you do not play! Ohshe
was saying that she missed me in
the Kandern City Band and that
she wanted me to come back and
play. I had stopped for wedding
planning until the Fall. I was
pleasantly shocked to know that
an audience member missed me!
That was encouraging!

German Budenfest

So, today we celebrated

Budenfest with the Germans
through participating in the
festivities. The Kandern City
Band played at the opening
ceremony. Josh and I ate at the
Bands booth with a couple from
our German small group who
were visiting Kandern, and I saw
the lady who had spoken to me at
the ice cream shop in the Spring
(see Katies Highlights).

Circle of Friends
We decided to have our wedding in
the States, but we were so happy to
have several students, fellow
teachers, and overseas friends
among our bridal party, helpers and
guests! We are blessed to have a
global circle of friends!

2- We had our annual Sadie Hawkins Dance.hosted by the student council.complete with square dancing,
wheel barrel racing and even a cricket spitting contest (left picture).

1 - Our 76 Seniors walked across the stage on June 14th. We are so proud of them! They were a great class! It
was especially special for Katie, because she had many of these students in her first hand drums class in 2008.

Our 76 Seniors carried the flag of the country that meant the most to them of the 64 countries that we have
represented within our student body this year. To our TCKs (Third Culture Kids), flags carry a sense of
identity. Belowpictures of Budenfest.
