They used a cute newspaper leaves tree to
grab students attention. They also put a giant tree on there to engage students! Everything was neat and well organized. Hands-on learning- children must actively think through each piece and decide if it is good or bad for the earth.

The standard asks students to understand that numbers 10-19 can be broken into (ex. 11, 1 ten and 1 one). Thus we made snowmen for each number 10-19 and student have to match the snowmen pieces with the correct number (ex. 11, 1 ten 1 one, 10+1) Thus they see this in numeral form and in words.
