TECHNOLOGY:
We will utilize different technologies & software to assist in learning, some of which can
be used at home as provided by DeKalb County Schools. For a list of instructional
software available, please see the Instructional Software Programs Guide handout.
In addition to technologies, students may possess smart phones or other electronic
devices. However, all students need to remain aware that these devices are not to be
used during learning time (school day), unless instructed to be used by an adult. The
use of personal electronics will result in them being taken and a phone call home.
TESTING:
While testing may stir up all kinds of feelings for families & students, the fact is that
testing is an important part of my ability to assess learning progress throughout the
year. There are a few types of tests that you want to remain aware of, which include:
End of Chapter/Unit Test
Benchmark Assessments
State and National Standardized Test
To view schedule for state/nationally mandated testing, refer to the 2014-2015 Testing Calendar
handout. End of Chapter/Unit Test and Benchmark Assessments will be posted on the class website.
