What Im going to say

Hello students, today we are going to focus on two

things. The first one is strategies. What do you know
about the word strategy? What does it mean for you?

Now I want you to tell me what different strategies

you use when reading, for example to get the main

idea of a paragraph.

WHILE-SPEAKING

POST-READING

T gives Ss a worksheet and asks them to

read fast and tell what the main idea of
each text is. After that ask them to look
for a specific part of the text related with 25 min
playing. After this explain them skimming
and scanning. Ss have to read one last
time aloud and get in pairs and answer the
following questions in the worksheet.

Okay now I am going to give you this worksheet and

the idea is to read and give them main idea of this text.
You will have to read fast. Now that you finish you
have to look in each text what does Abbey and Carl
likes to do for playing. You also will have to look fast.
Well these exercises I have made you done are called
skimming and scanning. Okay now I want you to read
aloud the text and after that I want you to get in pairs
and discuss the questions below.

After they discuss tell them to share what

they agree on the questions and argument
why they think that way. Also, ask them
what strategies they use to get the ideas of 20 min
both texts.

Now that you finish discussing I would like to know

what have you answered and what personal strategies
did you use to get the ideas from the texts.
