Philosophy: Military Kids grants keep military children engaged in activities of their choosing,
helping to relieve the stress of separation from a parent by providing a positive distraction,
minimizing emotional destabilization, building self esteem, and enabling academic achievement.

Description of services available: Our Military Kids provides grants to children of ALL

manager, stating that the Service Member is currently receiving care and is classified as severely
injured.

and fundraising, special events, marketing and public relations, graphics design, and general
administration.

Your thoughts on this agencys services? Do you feel they adequately meet the needs of
their clients? Why or why not? (Provide specific details to support your statements). What
recommendations do you have for improvement? They seem very organized and state what
their successes have been. They do meet the needs of their clients because they want the children
of military veterans to help the military. I think they can improve by placing some pictures of
children helping the military to show what happens in the program visually.
Any other pertinent information: Children aged 3-18 years of age (through 12th grade), who
have a parent currently deployed overseas with the National Guard or Reserve, as well as those
who have a Wounded Warrior parent may apply.

of course evaluation, complete an assessment of content, and obtain a score of 80% or above on
the assessment.

recommendations do you have for improvement? This agency has many programs to help
children with their stress over their military parent. And I believe they meet the needs of their
clients because they state their objectives for the program. For improvement, I recommend they
state more about their staff and more information about volunteer work.
Any other pertinent information: This agency provides scholarships, such as Space Camp
Scholarship, to military children.

programs. Temporary assistance is available for spouses who are seeking employment.

help them overall. I recommend that they put more information about how they help military
families.

Philosophy: Helping Hands for Freedom is dedicated to supporting military children and
families facing injury, loss and deployment. HHFF aims to improve childrens lives through
compassion, honor, mentorship and leadership programs.

Description of services available: Life Enrichment Educational Platforms and Team Building:
HHFF works closely with the program coordinators for military children off all branches and
organizes groups of kids and their parent to attend museums, wildlife zoos, aquariums, science
centers, and other quality educational institutions in the community. Bringing the children and
families together helps them deal with issues only known to military families of fallen, wounded,
and deployed service members.
Qualifications for use of services or clientele serve: A military member who is currently
serving, a veteran who was honorably discharged, and members of their immediately family.

Staff qualifications: Leadership and direction comes from business leaders in the community
who have built and managed private sector businesses and understand what needs to be done to
achieve success at a local and national level.

recommendations do you have for improvement? They made their site very easily accessible.
I found everything very quickly. I think they meet the needs of their client with having an
organized site. I recommend they add more information about volunteer work.
Any other pertinent information: HHFF will serve military children dealing with a parent
facing multiple deployments and the children of wounded and fallen soldiers in Operation
Enduring Freedom / Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Description of services available: The USO supports dignified transfers at Dover Air Force
Base, Delaware the first stop on American soil for U.S. troops who have paid the ultimate price
while serving their country.
Qualifications for use of services or clientele serve: Works with airline and airport security
officials to expedite the check-in process and connects family members arriving from multiple
locations and arranges for accommodations if a family's flight is missed or delayed.
Staffing: Sloan D. Gibson(President), John I. Pray Jr.(Executive vice president), and John
Hanson(senior vice president).
Staff qualifications: The staff, along with the USO Board of Governors, brings knowledge and
expertise essential to the USO's ability to deliver high-quality programs and services to our men
and women in uniform, wherever they serve.
Do they use volunteers? (If yes, how so?) Yes they have volunteers to support the troops.
Volunteer Requirements: Whether its helping out at a special event, cheering troops at
homecoming, manning a front desk or providing a listening ear, their volunteers are the reason
troops know they can count on the USO.
Your thoughts on this agencys services? Do you feel they adequately meet the needs of

recommendations do you have for improvement? I like how the volunteers support the troops

and have homecomings for them. I think the agency meets their clients needs because they help
the children with their stress. I think they should improve their contact information.
Any other pertinent information: The USO is not part of the U.S. government, but is
recognized by the Department of Defense, Congress and President of the United States, who
serves as Honorary Chairman of the USO.

(ATSSA) program is housed within the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CARD) at
Boston University. ATSSA's mission has been to improve the standard of care for adolescents
with co-occurring traumatic stress and substance use through the identification and development
of treatment and service approaches for this underserved population.

pre-doctoral internship in psychology.

recommendations do you have for improvement? I like how the agency has to have a
specialty in certain field of research. I feel like they meet the need of their clients because they

have reliable workers. I recommend that they put more information about themselves and the
agency.
Any other pertinent information: NCTSN partnerships involve a dynamic range of activities
with international, national, tribal, regional, state, county, city, and local community
organizations in the public and private sectors.
