using Prezi, describing and creating an opinion of the characters that have taken place so far.
Objective 2: Students will be able to answers questions on Poll Everywhere after reading the chapters.

Opening/ Framing the Lesson/Introduction/Early Assessment


Lesson introduction: The students will be reading the first 4
chapters of The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane The
students will be required to create a presentation on Prezi of
their analysis of the characters in the first four chapters that
they have read. They are required to describe and create an
opinion of the characters that have taken place so far in the
story. The students will also be required to answer questions
on Poll everywhere about the first four chapters of the book.
The Lesson Structure: Activities
To start off the lesson, the students will read the first four
chapters of Edward Tulane.
Students will then create a power point presentation off of
the website Prezi, to show how they view the characters in
the story so far.
The students will be required to get on Poll Everywhere and
they will answer comprehension questions about the first
four chapters.

Monitor/ Feedback
Short discussion on what the
chapters were about.

Closing/ Assessment
Lastly, the students will log onto Evernote and they will add
to their notes page: 3 things that they have learned either
from using the different technology tools or from the first
four chapters of Edward Tulane.

Students will be on their

Resources/ Materials
IPad lab- The students will need to log onto the iPads to complete this lesson.
Prezi- The students will be using Prezi to create a presentation of their view of the characters in the first
four chapters of Edward Tulane.
Poll Everywhere- The students will use Poll Everywhere to assess the students comprehension on
reading the chapters.
Evernote- The students will use Evernote to write in their notes page about three different things that
they have learned during the lesson.
