Welcome To Cuba

-Cuba is an island country in the carribeans.


-Cuba was also inhabited by mesoamerican
tribes before Christopher Columbus set foot.

Natural resources include cobalt, nickel, iron ore, copper,


manganese, salt, timber, silica, oil and petroleum. At one
time, the whole island was covered with forests and there
are still many cedar, mahogany, and other valuable trees.
Large areas were cleared to grow more sugarcane, and so
few trees remained that timber had to be imported.The
most important Cuban mineral economic resource is
nickel. Cuba has the second largest nickel reserves in the
world after Russia.

The weather within Cuba is usually warm but


at times it can be wet.
the currency used in cuba is called Cuban Peso
or Cuban convertible Peso but everything
revolves around the word Peso.

the population of cuba hasnt been counted this year or


last but the population of Cuba at the 2012 census was
11.1 million.
Unemployment Rate in Cuba decreased to 3.30 percent in
2013 from 3.50 percent in 2012. Unemployment Rate in
Cuba averaged 2.74 Percent from 2000 until 2013

Fidel Alejandro Castro Ruz (American Spanish:born August 13, 1926),


commonly known as Fidel Castro, is a retired Cuban communist politician and
revolutionary who served as Prime Minister of Cuba from 1959 to 1976, and
President from 1976 to 2008. He also served as the Commander in Chief of
the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces from 1959 to 2008, and as the First
Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba from 1961 until 2011.

Roberto Sanchez-A former model, Roberto turned to acting in 2001, with


small parts in minor commercials. After landing a principal cast role in the
production 2 Fast 2 Furious, Sanchez decided to focus more on film and
television, and has since appeared in, among others, Desperate Housewives,
Cold Case, Life, The Sweep, Strange Wilderness, In Treatment, and Raising
the Bar.

The Museum of the Revolution is a museum located in the Old Havana section
of Havana, Cuba. The museum is housed in what was the Presidential Palace
of all Cuban presidents from Mario Garca Menocal to Fulgencio Batista.

The Castillo de la Real Fuerza is a star fort on the western side of the harbour
in Havana, Cuba, set back from the entrance, and bordering the Plaza de
Armas.

Cuban cuisine is a fusion of Native American Taino food, Spanish, African, and
Caribbean cuisines. Some Cuban recipes share spices and techniques with
Spanish and African cooking, with some Caribbean influence in spice and
flavor.

1/2 red bell pepper, roasted and sliced

Cubans usually wear Caribbean style clothing, the women


and girls dress is sexy, feminine and colorful, women on
the island wear short skirts or tight jeans and a blouse or
a T-shirt named a "pull-over" in Cuban Slang. Men wear
jeans or cotton pants and a T-shirt or a Guayabera,
sometimes also written Guayavera, this is a loose men's
shirt a popular "Latin clothing" in the Caribbean. The
original shirt is also known as the "Mexican Wedding
Shirt".

The most famous of all Cuban festivals is the


carnival at Santiago de Cuba, held annually
from July 18 to 27. One of the most loudest of
Cuban events, the weeklong festival
celebrates Cuban traditions dating back
hundreds of years.

From the air, the island of Cuba resembles a crocodile or alligator and so
Cuba is often referred to in Spanish as "El Cocodrilo" or "El Caim".

Sugar from sugar cane is the main crop grown in Cuba, followed by tobacco
which is used in the making of hand-crafted cigars that are famous for being
the finest cigars in the world.
Baseball is the most popular sport in Cuba by far. The country is also
dominant in boxing and has produced a number of Olympic boxing champions.
Other sports of interest include basketball, volleyball, cricket, football
(soccer) and athletics. The game of dominoes is extremely popular in Cuba.

how do the countrys weather affect the


daily lives of its residents?
- I have been frequently to most areas of Cuba at that time
and I can assure you that the weather is usually great. You
may get the odd rainfall but it will clear quickly and the sun
will come shining through. Don't worry about the weather.

Cuba is very interesting place that i believe i


can adapt to, but i wouldnt live there. Ill
visit there mainly for Carnival to get turned
up!
