Dear Ms. Scott,

First, I would like to introduce myself. My name is James Kono and I am a student at Antioch University Santa
Barbara. I am writing this e-mail to you for a number of reasons. I'm in the process of composing a research paper on
a social justice organization I am interested in. I found the Mental Wellness Center to be an ideal organization, I would
enjoy learning more about the Center, and spread word of the work being done to help society and those suffering
from mental illness.
I'm reaching out to you, because I am requesting 3 to 5 "writing artifacts" that I may use as resources and references
for this paper. Examples of "writing artifacts": an e-mail correspondence, a memorandum, a data report, the mission
statement, notes, written observations, rules or regulations, job applicant criteria, etc. In other words, "writing artifacts"
are documents that you interpret, read, or write. I would be extremely grateful to acquire these "artifacts" by Friday,
October 24, 2014, via e-mail or in person.
I can imagine you are a very busy person and your spare time is not abundant. I would also love to establish a time in
which I may have the opportunity to conduct an interview with you. Hopefully, organizing this meeting before Friday,
November 7, 2014, is a possibility. I will give you a list of the questions I intend to ask once I receive the "writing
artifacts," and prior to the interview.
