Motivation: Having taken a course on Philosophy, under Prof. Sebastian Morris and Prof.
Ajay Pandey, I was left with mammoth philosophical questions pertaining to myself,
lingering in my mind, unanswered. More specifically, what are peoples expectation with
regards to my behaviour given the set of characteristics that I possess?, Why am I behaving
in a particular manner at my home and slightly differently when I am at A or any other place
for that matter. These kind of questions left me puzzled for quite a long time now. I was
looking for a tool or guide which will help me to inspect myself. Later I understood that
mere a tool will not help me as I will not be able to experience anything in real time, and I
will surely be missing something that is crucial to my self-introspection. When I saw ERI
being offered in term V, I thought this is going to be the course which I need to solve those
unsolved puzzles which I had earlier.
My journey of life has been fascinating so far. I believe the course will offer me the time,
space and right persons whom I can reflect on my journey so far on my life. There were
several impactful events which has happened in my life which has shaped my life so far.
Leaving my story for the final submission. I have taken different coding of roles at different
parts of life. However, I was not able to identify the meaning of these experiences. Often
times, trying to identify these meanings, I was left with stumping thoughts on why I should
know these meanings. Secondly, I also wanted to know what roles in which I have
succeeded are or what roles suits me the best. Finally, an autobiography will help in
reassessing myself and will help me culminate all my findings about myself.
Thirdly, I want to weigh my achieved vis a vis the ascribed status of mine. Have I achieved
the set of targets that I had set to myself at the earlier stage? Have I met my sociological
conditions to fulfill the roles? These are some of the questions that I would like to clariy by
taking this course.
Working in group at a scenic place will help in identifying the correct solution to the
aforementioned problems.
