Individual:

The students that I chose were different levels of performance. Student A was Medium Level,
Student B was a low level and Student C was a high level student.
Student A: Knew some of the answers when we did a KWL Chart we did this chart out loud
instead of them writing it down. When we did the worksheet and matching game student A really
understood the game and then really understood when I told them to leave their matching game
out to help them with the worksheets.
Student B: Didnt really know anything when we did the KWL Chart. The student struggled
with the matching game because the student wasnt paying a lot of attention during the lesson.
Of course, I helped them a little but made sure that the student was doing their own work so I
knew if they understand the material. The students did really well when we got to the worksheets
because they left their matching game out so they could look at the paper then find the correct
data for it.
Student C: Knew a lot when doing the KWL Chart out loud. During the lesson when I would
ask random questions to see if they were paying attention this student answered them all
correctly. This student did really good with their matching game and quickly did their
worksheets.

Whole Class: When doing the KWL Chart the class knew most of the National Holidays but
they were struggling with why we celebrate them because there are two on the worksheet are
similar. When doing the matching game and the worksheets students struggled with the
worksheets. They even had their matching game right in front of them. Students were engaged
with the lesson for the most part. Some students did require extra help because they did not
understand what to do. All of the students completed the matching game and the worksheets. We
then went over each worksheet to make sure that each student had the answer done just in case
there would be a pop quiz later that week.

when they are finish with their work. Students that finish early will be asked to get on Compass

minutes of the day they can get on Cool Math. If they have unfinished work from another

work they are given a check when they reach 5 checks they get to either play with Legos, get on

Materials: Power-Point, smart-board, and worksheet.
Procedures: Step 1: Materials
1. Make sure that all materials are ready to go.
2. Already have worksheets printed out and power-point up and running.
Step 2: Warm-up/Introduction:
Good afternoon boys, today we are going to wrap up on national holidays can anyone tell me a
national holiday? What was Tuesday? If you dont remember Tuesday was Veterans day. Does
anyone know why we celebrate these Holidays? We celebrate them because they are important

dates in History that need to be remembered. Im going to show you a short power-point on
National Holidays and I need you to pay close attention because they Holidays that are on this
Power-point goes along with the worksheets and the matching game we will do after this
presentation. Go ahead and start the presentation. When going through the holidays ask questions
(What is the date of this holiday? Why do we celebrate it?). This will make sure that students are
paying attention to the presentation. After the presentation is done explain the matching game.
Now we are going to do a matching game. Pass out the bags with the cards in them. What you
are going to do there are three sets are cards one has a picture that describes the Holiday, then
you have the date, and the last set is the name of the Holiday. You will need to match each one
of these to each other so for each one you need to have three matches. Go ahead and start on it if
you need any help raise your hand and I will come and help you. After you are done raise your
hand so I can come check it. It will also be a good idea if you leave them out because the cards
will help you with the worksheet. Give them time to do it. Alright now that you are finished with
the matching game we are going to move on to the worksheet there is a front and a back make
sure you follow the directions. If you need help raise your hand and I will come to assist you.
When you are done put your name and date on them and bring them to me. After you are done
with the worksheet and the game I would like for you to get on Compass Learning until its time
to go. Before you get on Compass Who can tell me what National Holiday to like the best? Lets
go around the room and share.
