This lesson plan is part of a unit plan on Atmosphere.
Lesson Objectives
By the end of this lesson, the students will have collected information on three different
clouds and used it to create a power point presentation.
The students will create a power point presentation with information on three different
types of clouds: stratus, cumulus, and stratocumulus.

Background and Rationale

We know that there are different types of clouds. When do we usually see clouds? What
do these clouds looks like? You will pick three different clouds from your textbook and
look up more information on the internet.

Procedures and Timeline

Each group of students (groups of three) will pick out three different clouds from their
textbooks.
The students will research the clouds on the internet.
The students will create a power point presentation.
The final products will be a power point presentation and a word document that
answers questions on the three types of clouds.
The computer tasks will be divided between the group members:
Introduction slide
Information slide (one slide per cloud)
Picture slide (one slide per cloud)
Reference slide
The students will collect information from their text books and the internet.
The students will brainstorm on how to set up the power point.
The students will discuss the power point presentation they created.
The students will answer the questions on the Think Sheet in the groups.
The students will discuss their findings.
Show the presentation to their classmates.
Look at the clouds outside today.
Discuss the different characteristics of the different clouds.

Assessment

The following will be assessed:
