Unit Title: Intro to Keyboard

Overall Learning Objectives/Outcomes


Differentiated (e.g. know, understand, able to do/apply; must, should, could; all, most, some etc)

ALL pupils will: Understand the functions of the keyboard, including styles, voices and rhythmic devices. Pupils will know where the notes are and be able to find and play
these.
MOST pupils will not have made so much progress and will: Play a basic melody on the keyboard in time to a beat using the functions on the keyboard.
SOME pupils will have progressed further and will: Play a more complex piece using both hands, they will use the functions on the keyboard to create an imaginative piece.

functions on a keyboard
All will know the basic
features of a keyboard and
where to find the function
buttons.
Most will be able to play a
piece using an appropriate
style and voice
Some will be able to play a
melody and chords hands
together using appropriate
functions of their choice.

Lesson 3
All will perform a piece on
the keyboard using the basic
functions.
Most will perform in time
with a backing beat.
Some will perform
confidently with two hands,
they will use the voice and
style appropriately and
stylistically.
