Dear National University of Health Sciences:

My name is Lisa Raney and I am a current student at Ferris State University. After reading through the NUHS Technical Standards
for Professional Programs, I believe I am the student you have been looking for as I have great eyesight (with the help of corrective
lenses), keen hearing, a strong sense of smell, and a delicate sense of touch. Also, I am very detail-oriented and therefore great at
observation. Listening to people is one of my best attributes and from this and different communication classes throughout college,
I have learned how to communicate effectively. Caring about people is very important, especially in the medical world, and I care
deeply about people, which is one of the reasons why I listen so intently.
Having worked in a fast-food restaurant for 9 years, a retail pharmacy for a little over 3 years, and from taking college courses, I
have gained experience in:

Customer Service
Cleaning
Patient Care
Computers
Organization
Biology
Chemistry

Growing up with a homeopathic nurse practitioner as my primary care physician and a chiropractor in the same office, I became
familiar with a slightly alternative style of medicine at a young age. But my passion for naturopathy didnt come until about 5 years
ago when I read The Seven Pillars of Health by Dr. Don Colbert. His book made me aware of how much we ourselves can do without
man-made medicine to improve our health. When the physician who owned the clinic that my nurse practitioner worked at
retired, I had to find a new doctor. I did a little research to see if any other homeopathic doctors existed in my hometown, but I
didnt find any. What I did find, however, was an N.D., or Naturopathic Doctor, and after studying some of the differences between
homeopathy and naturopathy, I decided that the latter sounded like something I would be interested in, so I went to this new
practice. The book I mentioned above ignited my passion for natural health, and visiting my new physician fueled it further. Now I
would like to dive in and learn as much as I can about natural health care!
I would love to sit down and discuss my skills and abilities with you in person, so at your greatest convenience please call me at
231-313-1210 or email me at raneyl@ferris.edu to schedule an interview. Thank you for your time!

Sincerely,

Lisa Raney
