Diffusion and osmosis are both similar, but they are also very different.

They both move objects

in your body like an atom, molecule, or iron to different types of concentration. Generally, there
are two different types of concentration. One type of concentration is high concentration and
another is low concentration. I will now explains both diffusion and osmosis.
Diffusion is the movement of ions, atoms, or molecules moving from a high concentration area
to a low concentration area. The reason they do this is a because of kinetic energy of random
motion. Kinetic energy is the energy of motion. For example, when something, such as cells
move, they then have kinetic energy because it is moving and the energy causes the cell to move
in a random motion in a flow. The equation of kinetic energy is 1/2mv= Kinetic energy.
Diffusion is used like a separator. For example, according to Georgia State University, A gas of
A and B are separated by a glass separator. The gas molecules are moving in a random motion
while they are separated by the glass separator. When the, partition is removed the gas molecules
from and B are combined and are going around in a random motion. After a while, the molecules
are united together and produced in the container. This is one example of diffusion. Sometimes
diffusion can change, depending on temperatures. The tendency toward diffusion is very strong
when it is even at room temperature because of great molecular speeds related with the thermal
energy of the particles. Diffusion helps molecules spread to a region of low concentration from a
region of high concentration.
Osmosis is the diffusion of water through a membrane. Water will move in a flow where there
is high concentration of solute. Hence, a lower concentration of water because all the water
moves to the high concentration of solute. The basic definition of osmosis is that it is where
molecules, ions, or atoms move to a higher concentration of solute. It is the tendency of the fluid
to go to a region of the body where it has a higher concentration of solute. Also, because of
osmosis, the membrane then has equal concentrations of materials, including low concentration
and high concentration of solute on both sides of the cell membrane. This makes the cell
membrane equalized because of the osmosis and the diffusion. An example of osmosis is when a
cell is making contact with water. When a cell is dropped in water, molecules go through the cell
membrane from a region of low solute concentration to a higher solute concentration. When a
cell is dropped in salt water, molecules would try to move out of the cell, and therefore if it is
dropped in freshwater, water molecules try to get back into the cell. Osmosis is very different
from diffusion. Unlike diffusion, osmosis needs force to work, as diffusion does not need force
to operate or work. The force is caused by the interaction of the solute and the cell membrane.
The particles move randomly because of the Brownian motion. If the particles move toward the
pores of the cell membrane, they are being repelled and because they are being repelled, they are
being forced away from the membrane. The particles are then transferred to nearby water
molecules.

As you can see, I have told you all about osmosis and diffusion. They both make the human life
very easier and simpler. As I said before, osmosis and diffusion are similar, but they are also
very different things that occur on the human body. That is diffusion and osmosis.
