The Judicial Branch
Although the executive and legislative branches are elected by the citizens of the United
States, the members of the Judicial Branch are elected into their positions by the President of the
United States the confirmed by the Senate.
The Judicial Branch is created by the third article in the United States Constitution which
shapes the structure of how the judiciary is run.
The Third article gives the Judicial Branch the power to establish courts.
Federal Judges can only be removed from their position by getting fired, or impeachment.
The House of Representatives are the ones who impeach the federal judges. Judges serve until
they die, there isnt a term for them to serve. Although, they can die, retire, or convicted by
the Senate.
Usually Congress determines the overall decision of the federal courts. Although, the
Constitution gives the Supreme Court the original jurisdiction to the federal courts. That is a
power that can be taken by Congress.
The highest court in the United States is the Supreme Court and the only part the federal
judiciary specifically required the Constitution.

The Supreme Court does not hold a lot of trial but it may hold a trial on any appeal on
any jurisdiction. Lower courts have to follow the procedures set by the Supreme Court. Parties
must petition for the Supreme Court, and the court usually doesnt see or hear appeals.
The third article of the constitution gives everyone accused of wrongs a right to a fair trial
in front of a judge, and jury. Also, the fourth, fifth, and sixth amendment gives even more
protection.
