Rationale Statement:
When teaching a lesson and you look around your classroom and see a few students not
listening or just staring at you with a blank stare, either the lesson is to confusing or its the way
you are teaching it to the students. A boring teacher is something a student doesnt want, they
want a more active teacher to demonstrate the lesson with the students in activities not just sit
through a boring lecture. Finding ways to get students focused on new lessons is a bit
challenging since kids these days get distracted more easily, in order to have a fun classroom
environment a teacher must come with creative ways of dishing out a lesson in ways a student
can easily understand it.
When I was doing my classroom observation I saw a lot of students never paying
attention to their teacher, which was normal to me since I was in high school too, but then
teacher would start to crack a joke and get away from the lesson to get the students attention

back and then slowly bring up the lesson again. Sometimes you have to get away from
something to come back it to it later with a whole new different approach on how to figure the
problem out. All the teachers at BRHS knew exactly how to get students involve with their work
and the lesson being taught, it really impressed me how easily they got their attention with a
quick phrase or joke.
In my classes I want my students have a fun time learning a lesson, never to be distracted
or have their minds wondering around, I want my students to succeed and find ways to have my
lessons be memorized. Thats whats being a teacher is about knowing that a student succeed by
the methods you taught them. Having students absorb the lesson in a different and fun way can
make them an excellent student, I just want to see my students be the best they can be and pass
down the knowledge they acquired from me.
