Being Obese
People all over the world suffer from obesity. Obesity is a medical condition in which
excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have a negative effect on health,
leading to reduced life expectancy and/or increased health problems. Having excess body fat can
affect someones health, the way they look, the way someone goes about their day, etc. Obesity
is worldwide and is not good for you heart but more importantly your health. There should be a
law against obesity because people are really killing themselves by eating fast and junk foods.
Being obese and being overweight are not the same. However when people discuss them
both they may be indicating that someone has more body fat than is healthy. Excessive fat in the
body leads to obesity. When being overweight if a person weights 20% or more over the ideal
weight he or she suffers from obesity. Excessive intake of high calorie food, excess energy is
stored as fat, Genetic factors, etc. are causes of obesity. Metabolic disorder, side effects of
medicines can also lead to obesity.
If a child is obese then the parents should face some type of consequences. No child
should be overweight or obese especially at such a young age. They should be running around
having fun, full of energy and enjoying their lives as kids. 42 million children under the age of 5
were overweight or obese in 2013. Childhood obesity is associated with a higher chance of
obesity, premature death and disability in adulthood. In addition to increased future risks, obese

children experience breathing difficulties, increased risk of fractures, hypertension, and early
markers of cardiovascular disease, insulin resistance and psychological effects.
Also obesity can have an effect on pregnant women as well. Being obese while pregnant
can affect the child and the mother. Being obese can harm your fertility by inhibiting normal
ovulation. Being obese can harm your fertility by inhibiting normal ovulation. Women who are
obese are more likely to have Gestational diabetes that develops during pregnancy. Women who
are obese during pregnancy are at increased risk of a serious condition in which a blood clot
forms inside a blood vessel which is caused by thrombosis.
Foods from fast food restaurants are highly processed fill of fat, calories and sodium. In
just one meal from fast food restaurant people could encounter so many calories. If a person
were to choose to eat fast food everyday it can lead to increased calories. Increased calories can
head to weight gain and other health conditions like heart disease. High sodium foods could also
led to high blood pressure or other illnesses.
Fast food is easier when people do not know how to cook or they simply just do not have
the time to. There are many different fast food restaurants just about everywhere. There are at
every pit stop, intersections, it may be within walking distance from someones home. Fast food
restaurants are also cheap, which is why so many Americans choose to eat there. People also say
that it is cheaper to eat at fast food restaurants then it is at home.
People do not know the consequences that come with eating fast foods. They do not
know that extra fat in their diet can lead to cardiovascular disease. Supersized fries and greasy
burgers could be the reason why people can not fit their cloths anymore. It is recommended to
eat low sodium diet, so that the blood pressure will not rise. Also it is not guaranteed that
everything you drink has less sugar in it.

Obesity can be prevented in several different ways, such as eating a lot of vegetables,
detoxing the body, etc. People that eat out every day need to cut down and prepare a meal or two
at home. The key to prepare a meal is to plan ahead. It does not take that much time to do this,
take it one day at a time. Think about the meals that everyone would like to eat during the week.
Prepare your meals ahead of time in case there is an emergency.
Although eating healthy may be expensive, the food and prices could still be managed.
Do not buy foods that everyone is not familiar with because the food may go to waste. It is okay
to try new foods just everyone in mind because no one should diet alone. When people that are
obese eat healthier, exercise daily, and get the proper rest they will see results.
The fundamental cause of obesity and overweight is an energy imbalance between
calories consumed and calories expended. Worldwide there is an increased intake of energydense foods that are high in fat. There is also an increase in physical inactivity due to the
increasingly sedentary nature of many forms of work, changing modes of transportation, and
increasing urbanization.
In closing, there is no need to be obese or overweight and have lifelong illnesses. People
with these conditions should maintain a healthy lifestyle no snacking or Ill just wait until
tomorrow to start my diet. Maintaining a healthy weight is not as easy as it may seem. The key
to begin healthy there should be changes in daily eating and physical activity habits that can be
maintained over ones lifetime. An individual needs to use more calories than they consume to
lose weight. To maintain a healthy weight, one needs to balance the calories they use with those
they take in. Obesity is not just an individual problem, it has become a community problem,
driving up health care costs and decreasing productivity. School foods should be healthier for
children to maintain a health diet.
