Visiting KEAN Cyprus factory with As chemistry students

It was a great opportunity to visit KEAN factory in Limassol and we are sincerely
thankful to Mrs Katy Markides Director of KEAN SOFT DRINKS LTD for her
generous invitation.

We had the opportunity to see and experience all the stages from the very
beginning of the fresh fruit being squished and pass through several processes to
get the fresh juice.

The chemists of the factory were our guides to every stage and they have explained
in detail all the several chemical procedures they do for the quality and safe
controls of the products!

All the containers are made and filled here in the factory. Everything goes through bacterial
disinfection.

All the packing is automated up to the last stage !

The raw material for the plastic bottles is the polymer PET ( poly ethylene ), the
plastic passes through special heat compartments and in a mold, in order to blow
up in the bottle shape !

Any plastic which is not suitable for filling up, is discarded and then recycled!

At the end of this wonderful and educational journey the staff of KEAN was very
generous in offering to all of us the most fresh Orange Fizzy drink we ever had as
it was just the production arrived with a date of 16/12/14 !!
