Reintroduction of a Species into a New Ecosystem

Did you know that in 1926 at the Yellowstone National Park people couldnt
stand wolves there they got rid of them completely, the wolves had been
reintroduced into an ecosystem and there are many effects because of it. I dont
think scientists should reintroduce a species into a new ecosystem. When the
wolves were gone the ecosystem started to change. They dont know how the
animal will behave. Finally why waste resources on moving animals into a new
ecosystem when they could help the sick?
First of all, when the wolves were gone the environment started to change.
Since the elk were prey to the wolves they became overpopulated. All the animals
ate everything in sight and became fearless. As the park conditions began to
worsen the beavers lost all their food and resources for building. According to the
article How the Removal of a Nuisance Predator Wreaked Havoc on the
Yellowstone National Parks Ecosystem The Park had begun to be dry and barren.
The elk ate the important willows that grew by the stream. The beavers had gone
away, without the willows their resources could not grow. Without the beavers
there was no dam to keep the water slow which means it went like a rapid which
made it worse for the willows! The elk had begun to overpopulate the park rangers
Idea was to kill the elk. The population of elk then went to down to where there
were not enough elk.
In addition Scientists dont know how the animal will react in a new
ecosystem. Especially if they would have brought back an extinct animal it could
eat everything in sight. From the article Should we bring back extinct animals
They are trying to bring back mammoths. If mammoths were brought back, the
mammoth would have a hard time adapting since it lived back then in the cold, but
with global warming happening the temperature would have gone higher. If you
had put a type of species that lives in the water on land it could not adapt because
some of those animals breathe through water.

Finally why waste resources on moving animals into a new ecosystem when
they could help the sick animals? As in the article Should We Bring Back Extinct
Animals An endangered species is like a very sick person it needs help
desperately. Some of the resources are not going to them they are going to
moving a species into a new ecosystem. Why not just leave the animal in its
natural environment? The animals with a type of sickness could get all their
attention but not all anymore. Even trying to bring back an extinct animal is
wasting resources too.
In conclusion I dont think scientists should reintroduce a species into a new
ecosystem. When the wolves were gone the ecosystem started to change. They
dont know how the animal will react and why waste resources on moving animals
into a new ecosystem when they can just help the sick? In the article written by
Meera Dolasia it states that they made the wolves go away but brought them back
and put the park back like nothing happened. But since they got rid of them in the
first place they were to unwilling to bring back the wolves they killed or moved
other animals that overpopulated. The parks flora and fauna never returned to its
original state. Thats not helping the ecosystem thats destroying it! I dont think
scientist should reintroduce a new species into a different ecosystem.
