BOOK BROCHURE BOOK PROJECT DIRECTIONS


NARRATIVE
Take a piece of unlined paper (8.5x11 inches) hold it horizontally and fold it in thirds (only
two folds). Follow the directions below specifically:
SIDE ONE:
Column one: Characters
List and describe the major and minor characters (may include a small portrait type
picture of the major characters).
Column two: Something about the author/student review.
Find out a little something about the author (birth date, where he/she lives, family,
other books, awards, etc.).
Write a short review of the book (would you recommend this book? Why/why not?)
Column three: Title, Author and Picture
Write the title, the author, and draw/paste an illustration of something important from
the book. (Make sure you use some color in your illustration so its appealing and
others will want to read your brochure.)
SIDE TWO:
Column one: Setting
Explain the setting of the book (time and place, be as specific as possible). You may
also draw/paste a picture to illustrate the setting.
Column two: Plot
Explain the plot of the novel including the beginning, middle, and end.
Column three: Favorite Passage
Copy your favorite part/quote of the book and tell why it is your favorite.
