We want to hear about it - and then tell the world ‘The Commonwealth Secretariat has launched a competition for educators in Commonwealth countries, to recognise and celebrate innovative education practices in its member states. The fourth Commonwealth Education Good Practice Awards were launched at the Secretariat's headquarters in London on the 19 March to invite applicants from Commonwealth countries to highlight their good practices in education and to encourage, reward and generate enthusiasm within the education sector. Commonwealth ministries of education, educational institutions and civil society organizations, providing or promoting primary and secondary education are invited to submit their good practices. Submissions must be programmes, projects, policies or strategies which have made a positive difference to primary and secondary school children, their teachers, or the education system of a Commonwealth country in respect of eight Action Areas. Goud Piactices must address at least one of the eight Action Areas which are: achieving universal primary education; eliminating gender disparities in education; improving quality in education; mitigating the impact of HIV on education systems; supporting education in difficult circumstances; using distance learning to overcome barriers; using education to promote sustainable development and promoting civil paths to peace.
