Unfair trials, for example, the

trial involving Antonio
Zuiga, a street vendor who
was arrested and charged
with murder, though he was
clearly innocent. Tests show
that he never fired a gun and
never met the victim.
Multiple witnesses said they
saw him at his cart at the
time of the murder, but still
he was somehow found
guilty and sentenced to 20
years in prison. Mexico does
not have jury trials nor does
it allow lawyers to represent
a client and state their case
in front of a judge. The judge
never meets the accused,
either. All is done through
paperwork.
In the Antonio Zuniga case,
police arrested him off the
streets and threw him into
the police car without telling
him why. Police brutality is
very common. Many
policemen work along and
with the drug cartels.
There needs to be reforms on
prisons. Half of all prisons in
Mexico are overpopulated.
Inmates escape all the time
and in of all prisons,
inmates are in control!

Two ways to fix this would be

to allow lawyers to represent
clients and talk, in person to
a judge and state their case.
Along with that, having a jury
would be a huge help so that
there is a distribution of
power and it isn't all in the
hands of the judge.

I think that the government

needs to work harder on
trying to get the police force
strong enough so that they
don't have to rely and side
with the drug cartels.

There should be regulations

for how many inmates are
allowed in one prison, there
should be more police
officers than inmates in every
prison. The security around
prisons should be amped so
that no more prisoners
escape.
The drug cartels in Mexico
I think that the only way to
are some of the worst in the stop the drug cartels are with
world. There have been over some form of war. The drug

I think there should be

stricter security along the
border, and I also believe
that the US should cut off
Mexico for a while, this
would help stop the flow of
immigration.
