GENGHIS KHAN

BY:CHRISTIAN

EARLY YEARS:
Genghis Khan was born in 1162 in
Mongolia. His original name was Temujin.
When he was nine years old, his father got
killed by an enemy tribe. This changed
young Temujins life forever.

FIRST BATTLES:
Ten years later, Temujin starts making
links with other tribes. In one of these
tribes, he meets Brte, which he calls
woman of beauty. Unfortunately, wars
between tribes were very common at that
time, and as Temujin himself said, there is
only one law that exists in the plains of
Mongolia, which states:

IF A MAN WANTED
SOMETHING, HE WOULD
TAKE IT !

The Merkit tribe attacks Temujins tribe,

and kidnaps Brte. Seeing that he cannot
win, Temujin runs away. His words were:

ONLY A FOOL FIGHTS A

BATTLE HE KNOWS HE
CANNOT WIN!

Together with his blood-brother Jemukha,

Temujin attacks the Merkits, saves his wife, and
eliminates one of the biggest Mongolian tribes at
that time.
Unfortunately, due to disagreements, Jemukha
splits Temujins tribe, and later attacks his
blood-brother. There is no winner, but Jemukha
manages to kidnap some of Temujins generals
and boils them alive.

After that Temujin decides to make a

revolution in Mongolian armies. He makes
the so called elite officer training court,
which emphasizes on fighting and using
the most common Mongolian weapon
the bow & arrow.

In the Summer of 1204, Temujin goes to

attack Jemukha. His pre-battle speech
states that:

ONE TRIBE IS LIKE A SINGLE

ARROW EASILY BROKEN, BUT
MANY TRIBES TOGETHER
WOULD BE STRONG AND
NEVER BE BROKEN !

Jemukhas people that go around the

border of the tribe and notice Temujin
approaching tell him that The fires of
Temujins people were more than the stars
in the sky.

Jemukha would eventually become the first commander

to face an army that would eventually conquer 12 million
square miles of land.
When they finally face each other, Jemukha loses and
runs away. An year later he got captured. Temujin offers
him to rejoin him again, but Jemukha refuses, saying
that he already betrayed him once, so he wishes to die.
Temujin gives him a noble death and breaks his back.
Jemukhas death results in something that had never
been seen before in the Mongolian history the
recognition of one man as the leader of all tribes, a
universal king, giving Temujin the title Genghis Khan.

CHINA:
After being pronounced as a universal
king, Genghis Khan faces a new threat
China, so he goes through the Gobi desert
, and invades Northern China. But then
he faces Chinas biggest defence The
Great Wall Of China.

Genghis Khan cannot go through the

wall because this will doom the whole
Mongolian army, so he decides to simply
go around her.

At that time, the Chinese were the richest

people in the Far East, so they pay random
people to fight the Mongolians. Unfortunately,
they became loyal to Genghis Khan and joined
him.
When Genghis Khan finally reaches Beijing,
the capital of China, he sees a spectacular view
a wall, twelve meters high, and thirteen
kilometers long, surrounding the whole city.

The Khan understands that he cannot simply

enter the city, so he makes camps around the
whole city and stops all the supplies from
entering Beijing. This leads to mass starvation,
which resulted in death on tens of thousands of
the people. Some of them are even forced to
become cannibals in order to survive.
Eventually, Genghis Khan attacks the city,
killing all its citizens, and then burns it all.

After destroying Beijing, Genghis Khan

begins to establish a capital of his empire
Karakorum. He then starts importing
knowledge developing of new weapons,
establishing a medical crew, forming a law
system, etc. He also establishes a postal
system, in which a man on a horse runs
for 200km , where he meets another man,
who also runs the same distance and etc.

PERSIA:
Genghis Khans next goal is Persia. He
decides to send ambassadors. However,
in the Summer of 1218, one messenger
brings a package to Genghis Khan,
containing the head of one of the
ambassadors. He becomes furious and
sends an army of 200,000 soldiers to
invade Persia.

After he invades Persia, Genghis Khan

decides so send a small army to travel
West, and see how far they can go without
being stopped. The army reaches what is
nowadays Russia and Ukraine. This
becomes the first raid of Mongolians in
Europe.

At that time Genghis Khans empire is

four times the size of Alexander The
Greats, and twice the size of the Roman
Empire.

DEATH AND CONSEQUENCES:

On August 18, 1227, Genghis Khan
finds his death. His last words to his sons
were:

I HAVE CONQUERED
FOR YOU A LARGE
EMPIRE AND MY LIFE
WAS TOO SHORT TO
TAKE THE WHOLE
WORLD. BUT I LEAVE IT
TO YOU !

He died thinking that he hadnt achieved

his destiny. His sons take his wish and
make it theirs, doubling the size of the
Mongolian empire. They manage to
invade Russia, Poland, Hungary,
Romania, Turkey, and The Middle East.

In 1242, the Mongolians reach Vienna,

Austria. Unfortunately, the new Khan dies,
so the army has to return to Mongolia to
have a new leader. Europe is saved. One
century later, the Mongolian empire begins
to crumble.

EPILOGUE:
Genghis Khan will remain in the world
history as the most successful military
commander known to Earth. He is also the
only general that has never lost a battle.

FACTS:
Genghis Khan was religiously tolerant.
He surrounded himself with Christians,
Buddhists, Muslims, in order to
understand more about the world. One of
the people closest to him was the famous
Italian traveller, known for introducing Asia
and China to Europe Marco Polo.

Nobody knows where exactly was

Genghis Khan buried. This is because all
of the witnesses of his funeral were killed
soon after it occurred so the secret would
remain forever.
Recent researches show that every
1/200 people nowadays trace their genetic
lineage to Genghis Khan.

The average number of people killed by the

Mongolian empire is 40 million.
Bulgarians were the only people, to which
Mongolians have lost a battle. They learnt from
their mistake and never interfered with them
again.
Nowadays Genghis Khan is worshipped by
Mongolians. His face can be seen on hundreds
of statues, bills, and even carved on hills.
