The Launch to another planet light years away is considered to many impossible, and this
research paper I hope will bring some new Ideas into how we as a race can achieve such a feat. The
initial launch of the a space ship large enough for three hundred people will have to be built in the orbit
of earth. This is because when the ship and the crew for the long journey are ready they can easily
launch themselves from earths orbit with enough speed to leave the gravitational pull of earth. If the
ship of this mass was to leave the surface of earth, the amount of fuel that would be lost could cost the
entire voyage. The ship will be outfitted with protection from radiation using plastic. The ship will also
be very heavily insulated to keep the heat inside of the space ship since it is very cold in space.
The very first people going aboard will have to volunteer to do so. They must understand that
once they are launched and on the way to the planet they must stay on course. This means that once
they leave earth they will never touch the planet again. The ship will need to have at least one person of
every major profession on board. This ranges from having engineers to having someone who takes care
of the agriculture. Everyone on board will have a job and will be required to do it.
The way the ship will be ran is that if you do not do you job you will not eat. This will
encourage people to do what they have to in order to survive. Humans are able to adapt to any situation
and if they do not adapt to the environment they will die. On board there will be a online database with
tutorial videos of how to do each specific job. This will allow children with a specific job to understand
what they must do. They will become masters at what they do and nothing else.
The ship will be powered by nuclear generators so that the ship will have enough power to
make it to the desired location. The generators will have high up keep so a team of people will have to
be monitoring them at all times. The generators will produce all the power for the ship and will be the
main asset on board. If the generators fail in anyway the whole mission may fail. The ships outer
plating will also have heating absorbing materials in order to get as much heat as possible. The cold
vacuum of space will be very hard to combat even with the generators producing heat.
There will be many rooms on board the ship. This means that the ship will be long and wide.
The first room I will describe will be the living quarters were all the occupants of the ship will sleep.
The living quarters will be near the center of the ship. They will be located there because the heat will
be concentrated. Each living area will be able to hold six people and have a two bathrooms. This means
they ship will have a total of 50 living quarters for all three hundred people.
The ready room will be the area where the most important individuals will gather if something
will go wrong with the ship. They will be able to organize a plan to solve in problems that may be
encountered during the time they are traveling. The people which are seated at the table in the ready
room will be deciding the ships fate so the most intelligent people on board will be at the ready room
whenever they are needed. The ready room will be located near the front of the ship near the bridge.
This will allow easy access for the commander of the ship to be efficient in quickly executing any
plans.
The mass hall will be located near the living quarters and will also be near the greenhouse. The
placement of these rooms will allow the workers to have the easiest time doing any of the work they

have to do without walking a long way, Therefore, this will allow them to be efficient in the job that
they are doing. The mess hall will be able to seat three hundred people. The materials that are use will
be able to be recycled for use again. The greenhouse will be the location for the all the food in the ship.
The up keep on live stock will be to great to keep so all food will be vegetables. The nutrients that are
need from meat will be in the form of pills for the people on board to take. The amount of pills on
board will be hundreds of pounds to insure that they occupants have enough to last. Extra pills left over
can be used for the final landing on the planet.
The command deck will have the bridge, the ready room, and all important systems will are
necessary for the ship. The command deck will have windows so that they may see what they are
heading towards but these windows will be a type of shutters which will be closed when it is not need
to look outside. The command deck will be the only room on board that has windows because windows
may allow more heat to escape. The life support will be the most watched system because without out it
all the people will die. The life support supplies fresh oxygen and collects carbon dioxide. The carbon
dioxide is then sent to the nearest greenhouse. The greenhouses will be scattered around the ship in
order to keep the carbon dioxide levels at a minimum.
The bathrooms will not send anything into space. All the waste will have to be reused in order
to keep the ship running. The waste will be sent to the greenhouses in order to be integrated into the
soil. The soil must be full of nutrients in order to create anything that is worth eating. This means that
the waste management system will be automatically taken care of. This system will be monitored from
the command deck. In order to keep the ship running at one hundred percent efficient.
The ship will be running twenty four hours everyday and this means that one hundred and fifty
people will be working every twelve hours. This means that one hundred and fifty people will be up at
all times to keep the ship working. Its going to be cycle so that the ship is always running correctly.
That means that there will be two people for every job. Which means that there will be two
commanders on board one for every twelve hours. This is the same for all the other jobs on board as
well.
The storage on the ship will be vast and contain many materials. Most of the materials we be for
the final part of the mission. Which will be landing and creating a settlement on the new planet. That
means much of the storage will be taken up by those materials. The rest of the open space is filled with
any supplies which may be needed. A material that may be needed later in nutrient rich soil for the
greenhouse in case the soil get so worn that it has nothing left in it even with the waste being integrated
into it.
The exterior of the ship will be equipped with rail guns. The rails guns will only be used to
shoot any incoming debris which is big enough to do damage or slow down the ship. The rail guns
recoil will be minimized as much as possible when shot. The rail guns may have to shoot asteroids or
comets that are heading towards the ship. They will never be used for anything other then that unless
they are required for something else.
The back of the ship will have a circular tube like object coming out it. This will be where the
shuttles which are used to go the planet will be shot from. These shuttles will be carrying materials that
will be need to create the first settlement on the new planet. The main ship will be carrying eight of
these shuttles. Theses shuttles will be preloaded with supplies already and all they need to do is be
launched. The shuttles themselves will be launching towards the planet and will not have to create any

sort of turning to get to the planet.
With so many shuttles this means that the main ship will have eight hangers to hold them. This
ships will be gone over multiple times before leaving earth to make sure that they are ready and they
will also be gone over with a final inspection when they are going to be used to shoot them down to the
new planet. These shuttles will be equipped exactly like a space shuttle but they will be larger so they
can carry more supplies. The hanger itself however will be automatic so that the people on board will
just have to board and press one button to initiate the launch sequence. The sequence cannot happen
with out the command decks authorization so that no one tries to take a shuttle and leave on there own.
The crew on board will be able to use a training room which will try to reenact the environment
that they are going to be going to. They will be using this room to keep fit and be ready for the final
mission. All the people on board will be required to use this room so that they may function normally
with out and sort of disability such as being over weight or not being strong enough. Kids that are
going to be born with disabilities will have to be killed because there is no room for another mouth to
feed and this would also mean a crew member that gives no benefit to the group. This rule is a cruel on
but it must be done in order to keep the ship and the crew on board alive.
Children on board will have a specific teacher which they may go to. The teacher will be the
one who they will be replacing once they are dead or to weak to do the work. The smaller children will
be sent to a classroom on board were they are taught the basics such as math and english. After they
receive the basic knowledge they are then assigned the job they must do. The jobs will be assigned
according to what the parents that have did. For example if a kids mother is a agricultural worker then
the kid is going to do what she did.
People that are finished with the job that had that day may enjoy entertainment at the recreation room.
This room will have many forms of entertainment and will have a database of videos, video games, and
movies which they watch as they please. This room will be adjacent to the mess hall so they have easy
access to food and water as they need it. Any body that is at the room and does not have the job they do
done will be enforced by a security team to go back and do their jobs. The entire ship will have cameras
which will only be used if they need them to. Both commanders must be present to enter the camera
footage. They must enter the specific key which they are given when they first come aboard.
The final landing on the new planet will have a disembarking procedure that is specific in what
everyone must do. Everyone on board will be required to put on a astronaut suit during the launching of
the shuttles. The launch of the shuttles must be perfect aim at the point which is designated for the final
colony. The ship will transform into a space station and will automatically analyze and position itself in
the perfect orbit around the planet. The After all the resources are on the ground and two hundred and
seventy people are on the ground. The last thirty people remaining on board will be responsible for
putting the ship into a hibernating mode. The last ship will be sent down and all systems on board the
space station will be in powered down.
The resources sent down to the planet will be used to create the necessary buildings for everyone to
live. There will be enough resources for any extra buildings to be created. This may include a building
such as a town hall or something of that nature. A waste management system will have to built later on
for the colony. This will no be a problem since all the building will be lifted off the ground about three
feet allowing for adjustments to be made.
