appreciatethefactyouareinterestedinadoptingahorsefromourfacility.Wewouldliketotake
thisopportunitytofamiliarizeyouwithnotonlytheadoptionprocessbutadviseyouofthe
lifelongcommitmentyouwillbeenteringintoshouldyoudecidetoadoptahorsefromourfacility.
Theanimalswelfareisourprimaryconsideration,thuswewillmakeeveryefforttoassistyouin
determiningwhathorseisbestsuitedforyouandyourfamily.

Wehaveanumberofhorsesavailableforadoption.Thesehorseshaveeitherbeen
broughttoourfacilityformanyreasons,somehavebeenpickedupinreferencetoCruelty
Violations,thusrequiringadditionalcare.Westrivetochooseanimalsregardlessoftheirage
andbackgroundandofferthemforadoptionsotheymayhaveanewlifeandbringyoupleasure
alongtheway.Forthemajority,wedonotknowtheirparentsorbloodline,sowearemakingan
educatedguessastotheirageandspecificbreedtype.

Allhorsesthatenterourfacilityareassessedbyaveterinarian,andaregivenacomplete
healthexam.Thisinformationisrelayedtoyouthroughtheadoptiveprocesssobothyouand
yourveterinariancanbefamiliarwithwhattreatmentthishorsehasreceivedwhileatourfacility.
Allhorsesareroutinelymonitoredandeveryefforthasbeenmadetokeeptheminastateof
comfortandgoodhealth.Itisimportantforyoutounderstandthatthesehorsesmayhavean
underlyingmedicalconditionand/ormaybeincubatingdiseasewithoutshowinganyclinical
signs.

Theconditionsofthisagreementareoutlinedintheadoptivecontract.Remember,thisis
anadoption,notapurchase.Ourstaffshallexplainthecostassociatedwitheachhorse
adoption.Eachhorseshallbemicrochippedandyourpersonalinformationwillbeassociated
withyouradoptivehorseatthetimeofadoption.

Tocompletetheadoption,allappropriatefeesshallbepaidtoPFARatthetimeof
adoptionandanadoptioncontractshallbesignedbytheadoptiveowner.Again,wethankyoufor
choosingourfacilityandanimals.Pleasemakesureyouarewillingtoabidebytheserulesprior
totheadoptiveprocess.Bysigningthisagreement,youarestatingyouarewillingtocomply
withtheentireadoptionprocessandshallbearesponsiblehorseownerthroughoutthelifeofthe
horseyouchoose.
