2.COMPOUNDSENTENCEAcompoundsentenceconsistsoftwoormoresimple
sentencesorindependentclauses.Independentclausescanbejoinedbyusinga
coordinatingconjunction.RememberFANBOYSfor,and,nor,but,or,yet,so.
Youmustuseacommabeforethecoordinatingconjunction.

Example:Thehardworkingstudentsstudiedtheiralgebraformanyhours,buttheunconcerned
studentspartiedallnight.

3.COMPLEXSENTENCEAcomplexsentenceconsistsofanindependentclause
andoneormoredependentclauses.Adependentclauseisagroupofwordswitha
subject,verb,andapossiblecomplimentwithmodifiersoftheseprincipleparts.A
dependentclausecannotstandalonebecauseitissubordinatetoordependenton
theideapresentedintheindependentclause.
