Overview of social studies curriculum mapping process
Share Social Studies weebly of resources
Share strengths and weaknesses of current social studies
curriculum/resources
Share your VISION of what the perfect social studies classroom
would be like (curriculum, resources, technology, etc.)
All resources to be purchased in this curriculum mapping cycle
hoping to look at more online resources and project based learning
Assign: chart out units for each class that you teach: K-5, 6-8 and
HS
FEBRUARY 19:
Share out units currently taught (K-5, 6-8 and 9-12)
MARCH 5:
Become familiar with the C3 Framework for Social Studies State
Standards (view one hour webcast)
Assign: read through your grade level instructional planning guide
and become familiar with the Dimensions 1-4 of the framework (K2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12)
MARCH 19:
Overview of Framework (video 8:16)
Get into your grade level groups and discuss the C3 grade level
instructional planning guide Dimensions 1-4 (K-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12)
Assign: collaborate in your grade level bands to update charts of
units taught and changes to be made to reflect new units (PLC
time?)
APRIL 9:
Dimensions 1-2 (7:03 and 5:37)
Project based learning what might that look like in your grade
leveltake on unit and collaborate on an example and share out
APRIL 23:
Dimensions 3-4 (videos 7:06 and 5:32)

Share out C3 Framework for Social Studies framework for your
