IfyouarenotabletogetanylicensesafterupgradingtheHARDLOCKthenpleasetrythefollowingin
order:
1) RestarttheHARDLOCKservice.Todothis:
a. Opentheservicesadministrationpanel
b. LookfortheservicecalledPETEXHLK.
c. RightclickontheserviceandselectRestart.
d. CheckiftheuserscannowaccesstheHARDLOCK.

2) CheckformultipleHARDLOCKprocesses.Todothis:
a. Opentheservicesadministrationpanel
b. LookfortheservicecalledPETEXHLK.
c. Rightclickontheserviceandselectstop.
d. Openthetaskmanager.
e. Gototheprocessestab.
f. MakesurethatShowProcessesfromalluserstickboxisselected.Itisatthe
bottomofthetab.
g. ClickontheImagenameatthetopofthefirstcolumn.Thissortstheprocesses
intoalphabeticalorder.
h. NowlookforanyprocesscalledPXHL.EXE.Ifyoufindanyprocesseswiththisname,
clickoneachoneandclicktheEndProcessbutton.
i. Gobacktotheservicespanel.
j. LookfortheservicecalledPETEXHLK.
k. Rightclickontheserviceandselectstart.
l. CheckiftheuserscannowaccesstheHARDLOCK.
3) Ifyouareabletoreboottheserverthenpleasedosoandthencheckifuserscanaccessthe
HARDLOCKonceithasrestarted.

4) Ifyouarenotabletosolvetheissuethenbestoptionistorollbacktotheoldversion.Todo
this:
a. Opentheservicesadministrationpanel
b. LookfortheservicecalledPETEXHLK.
c. Rightclickontheserviceandselectstop.
d. Openthetaskmanager.
e. Gototheprocessestab.
f. MakesurethatShowProcessesfromalluserstickboxisselected.Itisatthe
bottomofthetab.
g. ClickontheImagenameatthetopofthefirstcolumn.Thissortstheprocesses
intoalphabeticalorder.
h. NowlookforanyprocesscalledPXHL.EXE.Ifyoufindanyprocesseswiththisname,
clickoneachoneandclicktheEndProcessbutton.
i. IfyoudontknowwheretheoriginalHARDLOCKsoftwarewasinstalled,pleasedo
thefollowingtofindit:
i. RunRegedit
ii. IftheHARDLOCKserverPCisrunninga32bitoperatingsystembrowseto
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PetroleumExperts\PxHlServer
iii. IftheHARDLOCKserverPCisrunninga64bitoperatingsystembrowseto
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Petroleum
Experts\PxHlServer
iv. YoushouldseeavalueinthiskeycalledLastServiceExe1.Thiswillhavethe
directorynamewheretheoldHARDLOCKsoftwarewasinstalled.
j. BrowsetothedirectorywheretheoldHARDLOCKwasinstalled.
k. RunPXHL.EXE.
l. AgreyandrediconshouldappearinthesystemtraylabelledPetroleumExperts
NetworkLicenseServer.
m. RightclickonthisiconandselectShow.
n. TheHARDLOCKwindowshouldappear.
o. SelectFileUnregisterasService.
p. SelectFileRegisterasService.
q. SelectFileExit.
r. Gobacktotheservicespanel.
s. LookfortheservicecalledPETEXHLK.
t. Rightclickontheserviceandselectstart.
u. CheckiftheuserscannowaccesstheHARDLOCK.
