ThenameofthisstudentorganizationshallbeElectronicDanceMusicClub,alsoknown
asEDMClub,(hereinafterreferredtoastheclub).

ArticleIIDuration
Theclubshallremainactiveonayearlybasisaslongasitcontinuestocomplywiththe
guidelinesestablishedbyTheStudentOrganizationCenterandTheUniversityofTexasat
Dallas.

ArticleIIIPurpose
Theclubstrivestoprovidetheopportunityfor
education,creation,orenjoymentof
ElectronicDanceMusicculture
amongallregisteredmembers.Actionsandthoughtsbyall
membersmustrepresenttheclubsphilosophyPLURR(
peace,love,unity,respect,and
responsibility)
inallpractices,events,andmeetsthroughouttheentireseasonandacademicyear.
Membersshalldevelopandimprovetheir
education,creation,orenjoymentofElectronicDance
Musicculture
inafun,safe,andhealthyenvironment.

ArticleIVAffiliation
TheclubshallexistasastudentorganizationunderTheStudentOrganizationCenterat
TheUniversityofTexasatDallasandshallfollowtheguidelinessetbythedepartmentand
StudentOrganizationCenter.Rulessetbytheleagueoreventyouareparticipatinginandmust
befollowedaccordingly.

ArticleVMembership
Individualsdesiringmembershipintotheclubmustbecurrentlyenrolledstudents,
faculty,orstaff.Theclubisastudentorganizationandshallbetreatedassuch.Thestudent
membersoftheclubcollectivelyhaveresponsibilityfortheformation,administration,and
decisionmakingfortheclub.Thereshallbenomembershiprestrictionsbasedonage,race,
color,religion,sexorsexualorientation,nationalorigin,andhandicaps.
Uponenteringtheclubeveryschoolyear,memberswillbeassessedtoaccommodatefor
theteamsusageforequipment,socialevents,oranytravelrelatedexpenses.Feesassociated
withtheclubarenonrefundableandassessedonacasebycasebasis.

ArticleVIMeetings
Atthebeginningofeachacademicyear,therewillbeaninterestmeetingtoadvertisethe
organizationandrecruitnewmembers.Informationabouttheclubandnecessaryformswillbe
givenatthattime.Allothermeetingsarescheduledatthepresidentsdiscretion.Inaddition,
datesandtimesofanymeetingwillbeatthepresidentsdiscretionbutshouldbeatafavorable
timeformostmembers.Membersandadvisor(s)shouldbeinformedofmeetingtimesatleast
oneweekinadvance.Allprospectivemembersshouldbeinformedoftheinterestmeeting(s)at
leasttwoweeksinadvance.

Atleastoneofficerand/oranadvisorshouldbepresentatallmeetings,regularorspecial.
Thepresident,orvicepresidentifpresidentisnotpresent,shallcalltoorderatthestartofevery
meeting.Allofficersshallgiveanupdateofinformationoftheirspecificsubject.Thesecretary
shallrecordanyimportantinformationatthespecificmeetingandcirculatetheinformationto
everymemberoftheclubbyemailorothermeanssufficient.
Membersarestronglyencouragedtoattendallmandatory/majormeetings,eventsand
leadershipdevelopmentprogramsorganizedbythePresidentand/orAdvisor.

ArticleVIIOfficers
AllclubofficersmustbestudentsatTheUniversityofTexasatDallas.Different
academicyearsareencouragedontheexecutiveboardinordertomaintaincontinuityinthe
administrationfromyeartoyear.Officersareexpectedtobemature,honest,responsible,and
enthusiastic.Eachofficerisresponsibletoandfortheclub.Thecontributionbyeachofficeris
vitaltotheoverallsuccessoftheclub,butthepresidentisultimatelyresponsibleforoverseeing
thattheclubfunctionsproperly.Delegatingsomeofthepresidentsgeneralresponsibilitieshelps
eliminateonepersonfromdoingalltheworkandgivesothermembersasenseofvalue.Alistof

ArticleVIIIElections
Themembersoftheclubwillvoteandselectallopenofficerpositionsforthefollowing
academicyearpriortothelastclassdayofthespringsemester.Notermlimitsapplyunlessan
officergraduates,stepsoutoftheclub,isreplacedbyanewlyelectedmember,orwhentheThe
StudentOrganizationCenterfindsitnecessarytodismissanofficerduetoinappropriate
conduct/behaviororbrokenlaws.Incases,whichanofficerisdismissed,anewofficerelected
bythemembersoftheclubwilltakeplace.Themembersoftheteamwillvoteanyrunoffsa

secondtime.Alloutgoingofficersareresponsibletotrainnewlyelectedofficersintheir
positiontoensurecontinuedsuccessoftheclub.
AnymemberwantingtorunforTreasurermustkeepallreceipts,astheclubis
accountableforalltransactionsandcanbeaskedtojustifyspending.

ArticleIXFunds
Duringthesecondyearofexistence,theclubwillbeevaluatedbyTheStudent
OrganizationCenterandclassifiedforbudgetallocationsallowingeligibilityforfullbudget
allocations.Uponthethirdyearandsubsequentyears,iftheclubremainsingoodstandingwith
TheStudentOrganizationProgram,eligibilityforfullbudgetallocationsarecontinued.
Travelingdueswillbeacquiredwhenallocationsarereceived.TeamTshirtsareencouragedby
theclubfortravelingmembersandmustbeindividuallypaid.Fundraisingeventscontribute
mosttotheclubsbudget,andwillbeheldthroughouttheyeartoraisemoneyforclubneeds.

Anofficialclub

Instructor
isagreedonbyofficersforoneacademicyearas
needed.Eachcoachand/orinstructormusthaveavalidphotoIDtoattendevents,meetings,and
otherappropriatevenues.Allcoachesand/orinstructorsareexpectedtofollowthepoliciesand
proceduresoftheStudentOrganizationProgram,TheStudentOrganizationCenter,andThe
UniversityofTexasatDallas.
TheadvisormustbeafulltimefacultyorprofessionalstaffmemberatTheUniversityof
TexasatDallas.Thispersonshouldbeinterestedandknowledgeableinthespecificsportor
activity.Theadvisormustbeavaluableassettotheclubforprovidingmaturejudgment,
educatedadvice,andinsightintotheUniversityoperations.
Theprimaryroleoftheadvisoristoactasthefirstpointofinformationforallactivities
oftheclubincludingbudget,purchasing,schedules,etc.Participationinclubfunctions,
meetings,andeventsshouldbeintendedtoofferbothguidanceandsupport,andbeinbetter
positiontounderstandandassisttheclub.Theprimaryforemostgoaloftheadvisoristo
preservethesanctityofselfgovernmentwhileofferingsoundadvice.
Theadvisorisprohibitedfromoverpoweringclubadministrationandremovingthe
studentsasprimaryleaders.Allclubadvisor(s)musthavetheappropriatepaperworkonfilewith
TheStudentOrganizationCenteratTheUniversityofTexasatDallas.

ArticleXIRegistration
Theclubmembershipisrestrictedtoonlycurrentlyenrolledstudents,faculty,andstaffof
TheUniversityofTexasatDallas.Therearenorestrictionsbasedonrace,color,sexual
orientation,religion,sex,age,nationalorigin,orhandicaps.Allskilllevelsareallowedand
participationinmeetingsand/orevents,unlessotherwisespecified,isoptional.Atraveling
squad,ledbyanofficer,willbedesignatedformemberswantingtoattendmeetsandevents.All
membersmustbeingoodacademicandconductstandingwiththeUniversityandTheStudent
OrganizationCenter.Anyfeesfortravelingmembersandnontravelingmemberswillbe
enforcedtoaccommodatefortheclubsusageinanywayasneeded,suchasequipment,event
dues,ortravel.

Intheeventanyarticleoftheclubsconstitutionmustbechanged,thepresident,advisor,
