W. Ksllogg Specifications M20-D, M20-1CS (\atest revision), and any specitic modifications in the Job Specifications of Client requirements. Productions highlights of MZ0-1D ‘and M20-1P are listed below. © Travers shall normally be 1/2" O.D. tubing, except that 3/8" 0.0. tubing shall be used on instruments and instrument piping. ‘* In general, instruments shall be protected by separate tracers except for pressure gauges or rotometers which may be protected by the pipeline or equipment tracer. In such cases, instruments will be traced with 1/2" O.D. tubing, ‘* Tracer supply points shall preferably be located at an elevation above the highest point of the piping of items. of equipment to be traced. * Trapped single tracers may have pockets. The total depth in feet of all pockets shall not exceed 45 percent of the steam supply pressure with a maximum totaled depth of 45 feet, ‘© Distribution of collection manifolds serving 6 or less tracers shall be 1-1/2" steel pipe, and serving 7 to 12 ‘tracers shall be 2" steel pipe. ‘Length of racers shall conform to the following table. Each tracer shall be employed for heating as many items as practical within the specified length, unless separate heating is required. 26 1075 76 to 100 190 420 101 to 150 240 155 181 to. 200 ‘© Steam traps discharging to a closed condensate collection system shall be provided with a downstream block valve. © The condensate from open systems shall be discharged to a sewer hub, surface drain, ot dry well ‘Condensate shall not be discharged to grade within Battery Limits. Condensate in Offsite areas shall be piped ‘away trom equipment foundations and pipe sleepers. * Strainers, located upstream, shall be furnished for thermostatic traps, but not for thermedynamicc type traps. This job number shalt be assigned by adding the loter T* to the normal job number, e.g. Jab 5460 would become Job S460T. Therefore, al documents included in the steam traced package must reflect a job number ending with the letter "T. © Determine from flowsheets and index of instrument data which items are to be traced and list all tems found. ‘This fist will be used as a checkdist to determine if all tems which require tracing are traced. ‘© Obtain rearoducibles of all key plans showing lines or instrument which require steam tracing. ‘* On the reproducible, heavy up all lines and instruments to be traced. Also, heavy up steam supply lines and. condensate collecting fines in areas where they may be required. '® Locate trace’ steam supply lines and determine the most practical method of tracing, utfizing as much as ossible existing steam lines for tracer sources. e.g. hose connection risers towers. This approach should keep at a minimum the number of Distribution Manifolds required, © Locate al! distribution and collection manifolds and thew associated piping on the reproducible. ‘© Except for manifold piping and tubing, al piping required for steam tracing shall be digitized] ie, steam and steam condensate (including traps). ‘* DM's and CM's are to be drawn in phantom on the reproducible and tagged as follows: ie. “DM-4-1 per ‘rawing 650-A6 with 8 line leads", THE M, W.
