parts that help you breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. It includes these organs : nasal cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchitis, and lungs. Air enters your body through the two nostrils. The nostrils are the opening in
your nose. There are hair inside your
nostrils which traps dust from the air. Your nostrils lead to cavity called the nasal cavity. In the nasal cavity, air gets moistened and warned. The pharynx is found between your nasal cavity and your esophagus.
The Respiratory System
Beneath your lungs you find the diaphragm. The diaphragm is a muscle that helps to move air in and out your body. Your diaphragm during your breathing contracts and relaxes. It exerts pressure or releases pressure on your lungs. As you inhale, your diaphragm contracts and moves down the volume of your chest cavity, then increases. The increase in volume is caused by the upward movement of
your rib cage and the downward
movement of your diaphragm. Air which is under pressure outside the body pushes into your passageways and lungs. Your lungs expand as air fills them.
Bronchi or Bronchiole inside your lungs
that look upside-down trees split into smaller branches and then into many twigs which end in tiny air sacs called alveoli. Alveoli allow the exchange of oxygen and carbon dioxide to take place in its thin wall.
