A theory encompasses plans that are subjected to various experiments for application (Romas,
J.A., & Sharma, M. 2012). Its main basis is previous data and information that has been tested
and deemed fit. A model is regarded as the stages involved in formulating a theory. Models offer
guidance as they relate to functional concepts that can be applied for engaging an obstacle
(Romas, J.A., & Sharma, M. 2012).
In this case, the obstacle is providing clean water to third world countries where such
communities have scarce resources. The APEXPH model can prove to be an effective model to
apply as it allows self-assessment and a development practical plan for action. Through the plan,
the local health division creates health awareness to the local government agencies and
community members thereby incorporate all relevant stakeholders. Does the APEXPH model
have any major setbacks?
