incorporating traditional foods into the educational materials thereby allowing the staff to better understand a typical diet,
and permitting patients to be more successful with their meal planning

of foods to purchase from the grocery store, where to find these items within the store, and how to read food labels
Observed the counseling of gestational diabetic patients with varying preexisting conditions such as Type 1 diabetes, cystic
fibrosis, and addictions. Gained a clear understanding of how to alter a recommended diet to meet specific patient needs

healthy eating habits to students on campus

FNCE Trip Coordinator
Led the planning and organization of a trip to Houston, TX for the FNCE Convention in 2013

Sold seasonal produce grown in the SDA organic garden plot, as well as homemade goods to promote home gardening
Partnered with 15 other student organizations, to offer a larger variety of locally produced goods to be sold
Supervised the four Student Dietetic Association booths at the market to ensure a successful introduction of the event
Raised $500, and donated half of the proceeds and any unsold produce to Project Hope, an organization that provides
food and financial aid to those in crisis and need
