Overviewoffactoryenginebay:

Note:Itwouldbeagoodideatohavebagsreadytolabelthepartstakenoffthe
cartoensureandaccurateandeasierreassembly.

1. Relievefuelpressure
Atthistimeyouwillneedtodisconnectthefuelpumpconnector,andthencranktheengineforafew
secondstorelievethefuelpressure.Thisisagoodtimetoinstallthenewfuelpumpaswell.Referto
installationsectionforinstruction.

2. RemoveNegative()cablefrombatteryterminal.

3. Drainfluids,oilandcoolant.

4. Struttowerbraceremoval:
Useneedlenoseplierstoreleasethethreewiringharnessclips:

Useaflatheadscrewdrivertoreleasethetwopositive(+)wirecablesfromplasticretainerattachedto
brace:

Releasetensionbylooseningadjustmentnut:

Usinga14mmdeepsocket,removethe6boltsand2nutsholdingthebracetothestruttowers,thenremove
andsetaside.

5. EngineCoverRemoval:

Usinga10mmsocket,removethe7nutsandscrewsholdingtheenginecover.Removeandsetaside.

6. IntakeAirBoxRemoval:
DisconnectM.A.F.SensorHarnessusingneedlenoseplierstoremoveharnessandclips.

Usingan8mmsocket,loosenthetwoclampsatthethrottlebodies.Usinga10mmsocketremovethe
twoboltssecuringtheintakeairboxtothebody.Removeintaketubes,intakeairboxes,andsetaside.

7. UndercarSplashShield
Thevehicleneedstoberaisedinasafeposition;usejackstandsifcarisnotonalift.Removethe
wheelsforandeasierinstallation.

Usinga10mmsocketremovethe14boltsretainingthesplashshield.Usingaflatheadscrewdriver
removetheplasticclipinthecenter.

8. FrontBumperRemoval
Usinga10mmsocketremovethe2boltsonthebottomoutsideofthebumperonbothsides.

Usingaflatheadscrewdriverremovethe5plasticclipsoneachsideandthePhilipsscrews,andthen
removethefenderliner:

Usingaflatheadscrewdriverremovethesixplasticclipsretainingthebumpercover,carefullyremove
thebumpercover.

Removethefoamfromthealuminumbumperbrace.Nowremovethe(8)12mmboltsretainingthe
brace.


Usingaflatbladeremovethe6plasticclipsretainingthetwoplasticwinddeflectorsonbothsides.

Removethetwoshieldsbehindthecoresupportonbothsideswithaflatheadscrewdriver.

9. WindshieldWiperReservoirRemoval:
Pullthetwolinestothewindshieldwashermotorstodrainthefluid.
Removethe10mmbolt,plasticclip&overfillhosetoremovethewindshieldwasherfilltube.
Disconnectthe3connectorstothewindshieldwasherreservoir.
Removethetwo10mmnutsandthe10mmboltretainingthereservoir.
Ziptiethewindshieldwiperreservoirharnessandhosesawayinsafeposition.


10. CatBackExhaustSystemRemoval:
ItisrecommendedtosprayWD40(orotherlubricant/penetratingoil)sparinglyonallexhaustbolts
and/ornuts.
Usinga14mmsocketremovethetwonutssecuringthemuffler.Removethegroundstrapthenspray
WD40ontherubberhangersanduseaprybartosliptherubberhangersoff.
Usinga14mmsocketremovethetwonutsfromthemidpipetotheYpipe.Sliptherubberhangeroff
withaprybar.
Usinga14mmsocketremovethetwooutsidenutsandaboxend14mmwrenchfortheinsidenutson
theYpipethatattachestothecatalyticconverters.


Removethecatalyticconvertersupportbraceusinga14mmsocket.Two(2)nutsonthecatalytic
converterand(2)boltsonthetransmission.

DisconnectthesecondaryOxygensensorsfromthebracketattachedtothetransmission,bothbanks.

Usinga7/8(or22mm)wrenchremovebothOxygensensorscarefully,labelthemandstoreinsafe
location.


11. Removalofundercarsupportbrace:
Youwillneedtoremovethesupportbracemountingthechassistotheenginecradle.
Usinga14mmsocketremovethe8boltssecuringthebrace.
Usinga19mmsocketremovethe2nutssecuringthebrace(abreakerbarorimpactgunmaybe
requiredtoloosenthesenuts.)
Removebraceandreinstallthetwo19mmnutstosecurethecontrolarmsfromfalling!

12. Dismountingsteeringrack:
Insidethecar,lockthesteeringcolumnwiththefrontwheelspointedstraight.Itisnormalforthe
steeringwheeltobeoffalittle.
MAKESURETHESTEERINGWHEELISLOCKED!
MarkthelocationofthesteeringcolumnusingaSharpiemarkerorequivalent,thenusinga12mm
wrenchorsocketremovethetwo(2)boltsonthesteeringknuckleunderneaththecar.

Note:Thebluecollarcanaccidentallyberemoved,makesurethatitisnot
removedonceyoumarkit.

Usinga17mmsocketremovethe2boltsonthedriversideoftherack.Itisimperativethatyoudonot
spinormovetheshaftandsplines!(thesteeringwheelhasaclockspringfortheAirBagsthatcould
bedamaged.)Letthesteeringrackhang.

13. Removingcatalyticconverters:
Fromthetopoftheenginebay(orbottomifyouprefer)youwillneedtoremovethe14mmbolt
attachedtothecatalyticconverter.Usingalong(ormultiple)extensionanda14mmsocket,both
sides.(theseboltsmayrequiretheuseofabreakerbarofimpactguntoberemoved.)

Usea14mmsockettoremovethetwo(2)nutsonbothsidesofthecatfromthebottomofthecar.

DisconnecttheprimaryOxygensensorsonbothbanks.

Youwillneedtoremovethecoolantpipethatislocatedonthedriverssideoftheengineaccessed
fromthetop.Usingapairofneedlenosepliersreleasethethree(3)hoseclamps,pullthethreehoses
offthecoolanttube.

Usinga10mmsocketremovethefour(4)boltsretainingthecoolantpipetothecylinderhead.
Carefullyremovethecoolantpipeoutoftheenginebay.(Therewillbecoolantinthepipeandcylinder
head,placeadrainpanunderthecartocatchthecoolantandsavethegasket.)

14. Removingstockexhaustmanifolds:
Removethethree(3)boltsretainingtheheatshieldtotheexhaustmanifoldonbothbanks.Remove
thepassengersideshieldfromthetopandthedriverssideshieldfromthebottom.

SprayWD40(orotherlubricant/penetratingoil)onallofthestuds/nutsretainingtheexhaust
manifolds.Onthepassengersideremovethe(6)14mmnutswithadeepsocketfromthetop.Dropthe
exhaustmanifoldsthroughthebottom.BecarefulnottodamagetheOxygensensor.

Onthedriverssideremovethe(3)threetop14mmnutsfromthetop,thenremovethe14mmnut
thatislocatedtowardsthefrontbottomfromthetop.Thetwobottom14mmnutsthatareleft,
removefromthebottom.Droptheexhaustmanifoldthroughthebottom.Becarefulnottodamage
theprimaryOxygensensor!
