Turn in Research Worksheets for the last three competitive events. Each group should have information on
twelve total competitive events at this time, and should be working on the corresponding slides.
Flyers and Pamphlets that advertise FBLA (Group 1) and Business Communications pathway (Group 2) are
due. (Each person must do at least one of the two advertisements. You do not have to do both. FBLA advertisements must incorporate competitive events into their flyer/ pamphlet.) The content for the final PowerPoint
should be finished, and on every slide in the presentation.
Trifolds that accompany the flyers and pamphlets are due. (These should be far more detailed than the flyers/
pamphlets as they are larger and they will go on display.) The final PowerPoint should be in detailing stages
where the groups are adding images, animations, slide transitions, etc.
December
December 4th,2014

The most important and difficult to master speech of the pathway, the
persuasive speech, is graded by this rubric. A student must aim for
perfection to gain a passing score.
Record your competitive event research on this worksheet. Each group member is responsible for turning in four of these worksheets throughout
the semester (one for each deadline).
If you attended this event, please summarize your experience in at least 5 sentences and discuss how this event impacted you. (Even if you did not attend this event, you must write on
the experience that one can gain from the event for use in their future career):
This event is a school-site online test for Local and Region levels and an
online objective test at the National Leadership Conference. The test is individual and it assesses your ability to compute taxes, depreciation, interest,
insurance, payroll, and other financial items. Because of this, this event is
important for members to participate in or at least research as one of the
biggest downfalls of todays college graduates is inexperience in handling
their own money. To prepare for this event, students can research these topics online and potentially find practice scenarios in the form of games. The
Business Calculations competitive event is the most interesting and important event I have researched so far, and it has opened my eyes to my
own need to broaden my knowledge of finances.
INFORMATIVE SPEECHES
Students were to prepare an informative speech on foreign countries and their business practices for
their first speech. The rubric used to evaluate each speech goes as follows:
