P.T.A: We are lucky to have such a strong group of Parents

and Teachers supporting the school. On Tuesday night, the
P.T.A held its first meeting for 2015 and announced
funding for 90 new netball uniforms, $400 worth of library
books and $15,000 worth of digital tools such as Chromebooks/Tablets for classrooms! Thank you P.T.A and the
community for your support. The money raised has a direct
impact on your childs learning and experience at Kerikeri
Primary School. If you would like to join this seriously social
yet highly effective team, please contact the office for the
P.T.As details. Nothing Trivial 3, Friday May 8, 6:30pm,
KKPS Hall. Prepare yourself for a night of stone-age
fundraising. $100 per table, max 8 people per table. More
information coming soon.

We have had a great start to 2015. This began with 3 Teacher

Only Days for teaching staff. During this time staff worked on
a KKPS Professional Charter; a foundational statement that
reflects our beliefs around our professional responsibilities to
Leaners, Whanau, the Community, The KKPS Team, and
Ourselves. This was an excellent opportunity for us to set the
scene for the journey ahead and to reflect on the Registered
Teacher Criteria and Code of Ethics. We also introduced
the Professional Learning and Performance Management
programme for 2015 and had a guest facilitator work with staff School Donations: Unfortunately Government funding only

enhance technology in our classes and to begin to establish a
Multimedia Centre that could potentially include a Radio
Station and Digital Video Production facilities so children can
express and share their learning through digital media. This
vision can become a reality much quicker with your support for
school donations. Contact the office for staggered payment

Meet
the Teacher Evening: Next Thursday 19th
February 5-7pm. This is a relatively low-key and informal
opportunity for you to meet the teacher/s of your child/children
and to further establish this important relationship. It is not a
time for a Parent-Teacher Conference, but a time to get to
know each other a little better and ask generally How is _____
settling in? or to make an alternative time for a more in-depth
discussion if you wish. It would be great to see every family
represented. The P.T.A will have a sausage sizzle, drinks and
juicies stall. Sausages and Drinks $2, Juicies $1. All proceeds
will be used to help buy technology for the school.

Swimsafe: This week we have had the Top Energy Swimsafe

team in working with children on developing their awareness
and skills relating to safe water behavior and marine survival
skills. Ask your child to share what they learned and you may
be able to build on this learning when in or on the water during
the remainder of the summer.
Afternoon Bus Organisation: Thank you to those parents
who have phoned the office regarding their child's organisation
for catching a bus over Term 1. We have two aspects to
helping place pupils correctly on their bus. One sheet records
their weekly placement on a bus whilst the daily sheet records
changes that a parent has rung in for that particular day. It is
so helpful to be advised about changes as we often hold a bus
looking for a pupil who has been collected but we have not
been informed. The safety of your child is vital so we ask that
you call Carol in the office on 407 8414 to log the weekly bus
plan and then call on days where there is a change to bus arrangements. Thank you - Lynne Oldham - Deputy Principal/
