Generation Z doesnt deserve its negative adjectives because it has Strong Confidence,
More Global Equality, & a Strong Work Ethic. In the following essay Ill explain my reasoning
of why many disagree that we are narcissistic, over parented, faithless entitled, unpatriotic.
Millennials have been split into two genres; Gen Y & Gen Z. Gen Y has been known to be
negligent, while Gen Z has Strong Confidence, More Global Equality, & a Resilient Work Ethic.
Though many say harsh things about Gen Z, others believe we are our nations valuable future.
Many teens stand for their nation and for others as well. This shows that there is at least some
hope in our great nation, & possibly the others as well.
First, Gen Z finds itself in a weak market and yet wonders why. Gen Zs lack of skill and
experience however answers Gen Zs own question but Gen Z still refuses to see it as such: In
fact, Generation Z has known only difficult conditions since they entered the job market at 16,
their relative lack of skills and experience being the main drivers for the weak market they find
themselves in. (Emerson 2). Though incompetent, Gen Z doesnt give up. It somehow manages
to find the slightest hope in anything. Despite high joblessness in financial downturn, Millennials
somehow manage to keep their chin up: "If you present it in the right way, the experience can
open a lot of doors," (Fisher 3). Gen Zs ability to find hope and keep its strong confidence in
any situation is highly extraordinary. You might not see it at first but Gen Z has made more
progress than any other generation seen in history. Our technology has increased dramatically
since its first arrival along with its Social Media. Weve made more Scientific Breakthroughs,
weve cured more diseases, weve fortified our buildings, and most important of all, we keep
rebuilding after events unlike any other.
Then, Gen Z has seen less racism, bullying, and indifference than any other generation.
They have learned to respect those around us and to start caring for our world and every living
thing on this planet: But Millennials are also transforming the religious landscape, and there are
now major religious groups on both sides of these debates (Jones 2).. Compared to other
generations, ours has been the most empathetic yet. We have finally learned that we are all

human no matter what the color of our skin is. Weve finally become more accepting of Gay and
Lesbian Rights, if you were to look though a history book you wouldnt see anything about same
sex marriage because it was highly frowned upon and particularly illegal. If you were to take a
picture of Times Square, New York in the 1950s and another now in 2014 youd notice that now
you can see Gay & Lesbian couples: Gay marriage, another millennial cultural cause, is
advancing even faster. Seventeen states now permit it. (Brownstein 1). Millennials have also
dramatically reshaped politics. My uncles are getting married soon, and theyve never been
happier. I how ever was already highly accepting of gay couples and lesbian couples walking all
around me before I even knew about my uncles.
In addition, we are our Nations leading idealist, and innovators: "There's the sense that if
you don't have a longer list of activities than everybody else, colleges are going to bump you
down, and to be successful, you have to drive yourself crazy" (Jayson 4) In a world like today,
you can get a NO from any college just because they saw you as a couch bum. This does
however inspire our generation to go out and get job just so we have a story worth a thousand
pages for a college to read. We arent like Gen X or Gen Y, who had a life list on how they were
going to live their life. We are the adventurous, outgoing, enthusiastic, Gen Z who sadly- arent
afraid of the government anymore: And this trend toward entrepreneurial job creators will
continue as colleges offer students more courses with specialized degrees. There are 27 million
small businesses in the United States today, a number that is expected to continue growing over
the next 10 years. (Jensen 3) Today our generation is proud and entrepreneurial. We are finding
more ways of making money left and right. If we cant figure out how to get a job, we (like I am)
make a new business based on what interests our generation. We dont try to figure out how to
impress another generation, because we already know how to impress our own.
However, in a world like ours, legal money isnt just handed to you on a silver platter: In
many cases, there is the expectation of a fat salary in exchange for phoned-in job performance
and were not afraid to admit it.(Bass 2) Gen Z, just like every generation, always wants a lot of
money for an easy job. Our generation thinks that with a snap of ye ole fingers, money and a
mansion will just appear THEYRE WRONG!!! What we cant seem to grasp in our thick
skulls is the fact that teens have no life yet, not even privacy. A teenagers only job is school,
labor, eat, sleep, and respect their elders. When thats all done, read a book. It truly scares Gen X

to look at where Gen Z might lead this nation. However, there is hope. There are some teens (like
me), which can see the world around them and notice just what theyve done. It is them who
frown upon the teens around them. They are our nations driving force. They may be slow, but
they do provide much of our new work force.
We Gen Z- are fearless, equal, confident, and have a strong work ethic. We are now the
bare runners of our nation we are the military, the consumers, the producers, and the strength of
our nation. If we let our nation down, the nation itself might crumble with us. So far there has
been no comparison to Gen Z, because we are entrepreneurial, have strong confidence, a strong
work ethic and are more globally accepting. To the rest of Gen Z, I say thank you for giving me
three good points and for showing me just how much our nation needs us these days. To all of
the following generations, I ask you not to let our nation down. We need you to keep this nation
running, you will be the generation known for making the greatest technological leap and an
even greater leap to the rest of our solar system and might even be known for taking the human
race through the rest of our galaxy.
