1) Karen Silkwood- a labor union activist who acted as a
whistleblower for workers in nuclear facilities. She brought to the forefront many of the health issues that came with the job of producing plutonium pellets for nuclear reactors, and testified her concerns. She was killed on her way to meet a journalist in a car accident, and some believe there was foul play involved in the accident. 2)Daniel Ellsberg- former US military analyst, leaked the Pentagon Papers. These papers included the governments analysis on their decision to intervene in Vietnam. 3) Bradley Manning- a US soldier who, via WikiLeaks, leaked an enourmously large sum of classified documents. He was dishonorably discharged from the military and accused of violating the Espionage Act 4) Aung San Suu Kyi- Burmese politician and chairperson of the National League for Democracy. She was sentenced to over 15 years of house arrest, becoming a well-known political prisoner. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991 and Prize for Freedom of Thought in 1990. 5) W. Mark Felt- a former agent of the FBI who also served as the Associate Director. Felt was the infamous Deep Throat whistleblower who blew the top off of the Watergate scandal in 1972.
