ISLAMIC TOURISM AS A NEW FIELD IN ISLAMIC ECONOMIC

ABSTRACT
Islamic economics is a knowledge that studies the behavior of humans economy which the
behavior was based by the guidelines of sharia and backed by Tauhid. The Islamic economy
was not focused to banking business and investment only but Islamic tourism also was the part
from the Islamic economy. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to analyses the potential of
Islamic tourism in play their role at the development period of modern islamic economy in
general view. The potential factors that seen in this paper is the potential of agents and player in
the industry, the potential of interested places and country, the potential of market and prices
and distinguish the condition of Islamic tourism between past and current situation. This paper
also investigating the history of Islamic tourism and islamic perceptive on Islamic tourism in
general view. Islamic tourism can be a new frontier in Islamic economic in the international
stages. The methodology of this paper is conceptual and theoretical which implement the
qualitative method and exploratory data analysis. The resources of the collected data was taken
from books, journals, magazines, websites, and official documents. The expected finding for this
paper is Islamic tourism has the huge and wide potential to grow in the Islamic economic
industry and can be a part of Islamic economics insturmen that help and give the positive
impact to the development and well plan of Islamic economics as a economy hub in several
countries. This paper could help the academician to improve the knowledge and understanding
and could be a reference while construct the new further research. On the other hand, this paper
could help the investor to make the reasonable decision toward the potential of Islamic tourism
to develop the Islamic tourism industry and its can be a potential hub of modern islamic
economic. This paper also could help government to intervene the development of Islamic
tourism and develop Islamic tourism.
