Part II: Reflection

CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
I learned how to drill down into data to better understand how the students did, where they
succeeded, and where they need the most amount of help. I learned how to successfully conduct
and lead open and productive data meetings that will lead to the best uses of the data and the
school improving. I learned how to create a data overview of our school so that people can see
where we are at in our school.
2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
This class gave me all of the tools that I will need to be a successful data coach. I learned about
all of the different types of data that a school needs to succeed. I learned about how to conduct
successful data team meetings and choose good data team members. I learned that I will need to
have an open, calm, and nonjudgmental disposition in order to reach the most amount of people.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
This field experience gave me everything that I need in order to start a data team at my school.
Not only will I be able to start a data team, but I will be able to start a successful and productive
data team. I will be able to create a data team that has ownership of the data and wants to help the
school improve.
