There are many reasons proving the death penalty is the right way to go.

The first
reason is that of retribution. According to dictionary.com the law definition of retribution is,That
which is given to another to recompense him for what has been received from him. Put into
context of crime the killer deserves to be punished in the same way; the death penalty. I know
that on a way smaller scale, if I were to steal someones cookie, I wouldnt want someone to
steal one of mine. A second reason is that it is a deterrent. The ideology the state has by
institutionalizing this punishment is that people would be discouraged to kill someone knowing
that they would be killed. This is a big incentive against murder, in my opinion. That among
many other reasons are why we should absolutely reinstate and continue the death penalty.
There are faults in all of the claims to not have the death penalty. One common claim is
recognized by ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), A society that respects life does not
deliberately kill human beings. This isnt true. The legal system killing off these murderers is
helping society, helping society not live in fear the a serial killer like Ted Bundy might escape
and be even more mad and more dedicated with more hatred fueled by his time in jail.
I believe that the death penalty should be abolished. On of the main reasons of support
for it is demonstrated by a quote in the article Mister Death Penalty spoken by Kent
Scheidegger. This quote is,He argues that the death penalty deters criminals. But a quote from
the article Death Penalty is Dead Wrong states that, Ted Bundy - may even be tempted to
murder because of a perverse desire to challenge the ultimate penalty. If criminals are taking
this as motivation and to prove that they aren't scared and are true men then where is the proof
of deterrent.
The opposing side. If we were to instate the death penalty people would be enraged that
the states are condoning killing. It will also lead to an unjust society because people wont take
murder as seriously because the government is carrying out the same thing.
